The Master program genome based system technology course gives access to a new interdisciplinary research field  systems biology  where molecular life science and modern physico-chemical techniques and mathematical-bioinformatic methods synergize.Systems biology comprises a lot of disciplines. In this field biology joins forces with e.g. bioinformatics  mathematics and physics. The common target is to understand the functionality of cells  organs or even complete organisms.
With a Master degree in "Genome Based Systems Biology" you can e.g. work on biotechnological projects  study diseases or investigate alternative forms of energy. You are well prepared for a career as well in science as in economy.
This research oriented Master course  with less than 18 students per academic year  enables an intensive supervision and sufficient time to learn the use of complex instruments and evaluate and analyze complex data.
This interdisciplinary Master course follows the tradition of Bielefeld University - communication and cooperation are therefore deeply embedded.Aim of systems biology is to establish computer-based models of processes in the living cell allowing to predict the performance of metabolic pathways  cells  organs or whole organisms under certain conditions.

All courses and lectures are given either in German or in English. Therefore German as well as English language skills are prerequisite.

 One of the first universities in Germany to offer international bachelor's and master's degrees in place of the conventional Diplom and Magister was the University of Bochum. With a few exceptions, such as the law school, all of the Ruhr-faculties University's offer these degrees. The institution currently offers 184 distinct study programs that span all of the academic subjects it is represented in.
 
 The state of North Rhine-Westphalia supports and oversees Ruhr University. As of 2014, the university had 42,718 students enrolled in twenty-one different faculties and employed about 5,600 people, 411 of whom were professors. Ruhr-Universität Bochum

The Technical Institution of Berlin is a public research university with locations in Berlin, Germany. German public research university Technical University of Kaiserslautern, usually referred to as TU Kaiserslautern or TUK, is located in Kaiserslautern. With over 14,500 students, it is a campus university that provides over 100 courses focused on the future in 12 departments. Its manageable size also enables close interaction with academics and a top-notch supervision environment. 

The TU has a lot to offer its students in terms of appealing courses, such as biophysics, biological and chemical engineering, food chemistry, and industrial mathematics. The majority of courses take an interdisciplinary approach, fusing many topic areas. A MINT degree (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology) opens up exciting employment opportunities and, last but not least, solid financial possibilities.

In terms of research and instruction, the TU Kaiserslautern has a strong international reputation. She has a stellar reputation in the fields of computer science and mathematics. In addition, students and (young) scientists benefit from the numerous internationally renowned research institutions, including two Fraunhofer Institutes, a Max Planck Institute, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence and the Institute for Composite Materials, which work closely in the field of applied research cooperate with the TU.

The only technical and engineering-focused university in Rhineland-Palatinate provides students with the fundamental necessities, including future-focused courses, hands-on training, and sophisticated facilities. The prize given to the TU Kaiserslautern, one of the six winning universities in the national "Excellence in Education" competition, is tangible evidence of the importance placed on teaching at the institution.

Technische Universität Kaiserslautern

The University of Lübeck is a research institution with a strong emphasis on the medical sciences and related fields. It is located in Lübeck, Northern Germany. The University of Lübeck was established as a stand-alone research facility in Schleswig-Holstein in 1973.

They provide degree programs in the natural sciences, engineering, computer science, and medicine. Interdisciplinary programs that combine the scientific sciences, computer science, and medicine provide students with a modern education that is supported by the best possible medical care. Due to faculty cooperation, collaboration with other universities in Lübeck, the Research Center Borstel, the Medical Laser Centre, and local enterprises, the environment for developing and using novel technologies, diagnostics, and therapies are optimal here. The quality of research at their institution, which is now characterized by two specialized fields of study, is strengthened by collaboration with national and international research centers.
The Universität zu Lübeck has a small student population (3,400) compared to other institutions, but it has a favourable teacher-to-student ratio. The excellent academic status of their students in medicine and computer science demonstrates the high caliber of the instruction.

The University of Lübeck is unique in that it is organized into three sections rather than departments or faculties, with the sections of Informatics/Engineering and Natural Sciences coming together under the title MINT. Along with the divisions that highlight the university's research character, the centers at the Universität zu Lübeck are an essential component of the organizational structure.
