The Master Empires and Transcontinental Spaces is an interdisciplinary course offered jointly by the subjects American Studies, Japanese Studies, Sinology, Modern History and Contemporary History, and Eastern European History. It builds on the goals of transnational history and global history, to overcome narrow national (state) perspectives and Eurocentrism, and promotes the dialogue between Area Studies with their expertise on individual regions of the world.

The Semester contributions totaling 117.50 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Student Services fee and contribution for the semester ticket fee
Minimum requirement includes a Bachelor degree in history, cultural studies, political science, or regionally oriented study programs such as Chinese studies, Japanese studies, other study programs with a focus on Asia, English studies, American studies, Slavic studies, and related disciplines.
Applicants should have knowledge of other modern foreign language at B2 level
Applicants from China, India or Vietnam need to submit APS certificate
Additionally, proof of proficiency in other modern foreign language (example Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish) at level B2 CEFR
