Master

This degree program is aimed at graduates of Bachelor programs in the fields of Technology and computer science  as well as graduates of business-related degree programs with a focus on Technology. Over the course of three semesters  students acquire the skills necessary to come up with interdisciplinary solutions to safety and security problems in the areas of industrial automation  control systems and critical infrastructure. This practical degree program focuses on a range of subjects including IT security  data protection  functional security  IT law and employee management.

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Industrial Safety and Security is a bilingual study program. Languages of instruction are German (50 %) and English (50%).

Applications can be submitted between 15 november – 15 December via the online application portal of Augsburg University of Applied Sciences.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

The semester fee of 121.75 EUR comprises the student Services fee of 62.00 EUR and  semester ticket of 59.75 EUR

In TOEIC, the listening level should be 430, the reading level should be 400.

The international Master World Heritage Studies provides the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to identify  protect  manage and present cultural and natural heritage sites. Students are encouraged to question how the World Heritage concept is understood and how it works around the world. The program combines theory and practice involving various academic disciplines such as humanities  architecture  ecology  management  tourism  marketing and others. It thus emphasizes the connection between culture and nature  tangible and intangible cultural heritage  as well as conservation and sustainable development.The program recognizes that heritage can and should be protected from a variety of perspectives and in contemporary contexts. To this end  the program focuses on the critical examination of current challenges  such as demographic changes  ecological fragility and economic inequalities. Students will develop the skills they need to work successfully in professional cultural and natural heritage contexts to further Advanced the definition and recontextualization of the World Heritage concept.

The language of instruction and examination in the World Heritage Studies Master program is English.

Master entrance qualification German
All applicants with a German Master degree can apply directly in the myBTU portal for their desired course. This also applied to students who are or were already enrolled at one of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg locations and would like to apply for a Master degree or a change of degree.
Students who obtained their last entrance qualification abroad and would like to apply for a Master degree should apply via the My assist Applicants portal .

Applicants with a higher education entrance qualification from Australia  Canada  Ireland  New Zealand  Great Britain incl. Northern Ireland or the United States of American do not have to submit a separate proof of English language skills

All lectures and events are  of course  held in English.



It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.

The “Master of Arts in Development Economics and International Studies” (MA DEIS) is an economics-centered program designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of students planning to work in or seek leadership responsibilities in public  non-profit  and private sector organizations for international cooperation and development. It is also aimed at students intending to work at the intersection between research and practice and at those pursuing an academic career in study-related subjects.

It is a two-year (four-semester) program and includes rigorous training in analytical as well as qualitative and quantitative methods. In particular  with the increasing availability of micro data (e.g. household- or firm-level data) and the importance of evidence-based policy making  students learn how to do applied empirical work in (development) economics  with a special emphasis on impact evaluations. This includes both experimental methods  such as randomized field experiments  and quasi-experimental methods. The program hence provides students with the skills to understand much of the empirical literature in development economics. Also  and importantly  as part of this training  students will become acquainted with the statistical software Stata  with the aim to enable students to do their own empirical analyses.

The work-study MA Dance Teacher Programme is directed towards professional dancers and dance teachers seeking to further their skills as dance teachers, ballet Master/rehearsal directors, working in professional training institutions, community dance or in dance companies and theatres. 

The MA Dance Teacher Programme is taught in English. 
The module Dance Medicine is offered in both German and English. All oral and written exams can also be taken in German upon request.


A fee of 30.00 EUR has to be paid. The fee is due with sending the application documents and will not be refunded.

If the proof of the English language skills is not provided by the date of enrollment, the enrollment is only conditional. The C1 level of English then has to be proven by the end of the second semester, otherwise the enrollment will be deemed invalid

Landscape Ecology

Dance Movement Therapy and other arts therapies are increasingly popular in healthcare, and the research base for these fields is growing. The degree programme in Dance Movement Therapy takes a total of two years, including an intensive placement phase. The range of classes includes dance therapy techniques, psychological/medical expertise and scientific methods. The degree programme will enable you to use movement analysis and dance therapy techniques for targeted diagnostic purposes. In the campus outpatient clinic and during placements, you will practice the knowledge and skills gained under the guidance of mentors. You will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of research projects.

As a major subject, a Bachelor degree in English encompasses the scientific investigation of English languages, literatures and cultures as well as in-depth language training. Traditionally, Britain and North American are of central significance both in teaching and research, but there are also a number of classes on other varieties of the language, other literatures in English and other English-speaking cultures.

The Master program gives an overview in the fields of Neurobiology, Sociobiology and Ecology. This includes aspects of neurogenetics and behavior as well as the interaction of individuals, social groups and large populations in complex and variable ecosystems. Students become familiar with various aspects of Neurobiology and Organismic Biology with a special focus on Neuroethology.
