The Master programme in European Studies – European Policy Analysis prepares students to analyse, evaluate and influence the policymaking process of the European Union. It does so by combining insights from political science, sociology, cultural studies and economics.

European Studies (Social and Economic Policy Analysis)

Master in American Studies/British Studies/English Linguistics helps students to gain a detailed understanding of their chosen specialist discipline based on current research activity in the field and the skills needed in order to be able to produce sound and reasoned analyses of the linguistic, literary and cultural relationships of a topic through application of the relevant theoretical and methodological tools.
Students can choose to study one of the subject areas 'British Literary and Cultural Studies', 'English Linguistics' or 'North American Literary and Cultural Studies for their single-subject Master degree or as their main (major) subject if they are enrolled for a dual-subject degree programme. Further specialization within any of the main three subject areas is expressly encouraged.
Note: The programme can be studied either as a full time course with four semester or part time course with seven semester.

The Semester contributions totalling 293.00 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Saarland Student Services fee of 98.70 EUR,  Personal accident, theft and public liability insurance cover fee 1.30 EUR, Payment to the General Student Committee (AStA) 13.00 EUR, Administrative charge fee 50.00 EUR and Semester travel ticket fee 130.00 EUR

American Studies/British Studies/English Linguistics

Saarland University

The subject English Linguistics, Literatures, and Cultures is offered as a major and minor subject in 2-subject Bachelor programs. It aims to enable students to move communicatively and culturally competently within the target cultures with their currently estimated 1.5 billion speakers and writers of the world language English.

Following test results can serve as proof of English proficiency: School-leaving certificate, TOEFL or IELTS

The continuing education Master program in European and International Energy Law addresses the technical, economic, and above all legal foundations governing European and international energy and gas markets. The program thoroughly acquaints students with a holistic approach, ranging from an understanding of technical and economic principles through to the detailed legal issues involved in the entire value chain in gas and energy markets. 

The Semester contributions totaling 307.54 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Administrative fee 50 EUR, Student body contribution fee 9.65 EUR, Student work Berlin fee 54.09 EUR and Semesterticket contribution fee 193.80 EUR

UNIcert II, DAAD ZEMS language assessment with Level B2, ZEMS English-LV³ with Level B2 is accepted as proof of language proficiency

European and International Energy Law

Technische Universität Berlin

The practice-oriented Master in Law and Economics of the Arab Region provides in-depth knowledge for economic analyses of the legislation with this unique geographic focus. Graduates are awarded a double degree: a law degree from the Faculty of Law at Universität Hamburg (Master of Law, LLM) and an economics degree from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS) at Cairo University (Master of Economics, MSc).
Students learn to apply the tools of economics and social sciences to legal issues. They are subsequently able to communicate economic analyses of legislation and formulate policy recommendations. The program is partially funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) via the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Law and Economics of the Arab Region

Universität Hamburg

Master in European Legal Studies and International Economic Law prepare highly qualified students in a practice-oriented manner for a variety of careers related to the legal and economic aspects of cooperation and trade relations between the EU and Russia. Double Master program in European Legal Studies and International Economic Law is a joint course offered by the State University of Saint Petersburg and the University of Hamburg.
