Babelsberg's Konrad Wolf Film University (German: Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf) is Germany's oldest and largest film school. The university provides undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate studies in all aspects of the filmmaking process. Furthermore, it is Brandenburg's only art school, located in Babelsberg alongside the Babelsberg Film Studio.
 
 The German Academy of Film Art (German: Deutsche Hochschule für Filmkunst) was founded on November 1, 1954, at Babelsberg Palace in Potsdam-Babelsberg, and was renamed the Film and Television Academy of the GDR in 1969. It was named after director Konrad Wolf in 1985, and it was renamed Academy for Film and Television in 1990. After 60 years of operation, the school was granted university status and renamed Konrad Wolf Film University of Babelsberg on July 8, 2014.
 
 Film courses are available through the university's Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts programs. Animation, animation directing, audio-visual application design, cinematography, digital media culture, script/dramaturgy, film and television production, film culture heritage, film music, film and television directing, media science, editing, directing, drama, sound, sound for picture, scenography/production design, and scenography were the courses offered in 2015/16.

The Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg is a public research university in Würzburg, Germany. The University was founded in 1402 and is one of Germany's oldest institutions of higher learning. The University of Würzburg is a member of the U15 group of German research universities. The university also belongs to the Coimbra Group. Many famous scientists, including 14 Nobel laureates, have conducted research, and taught in the university of Würzburg.

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is known as "the Helmholtz Association's Research University." As Germany's only university of excellence with national large-scale research, it provides students, researchers, and employees with exceptional learning, teaching, and working environments. The roots of the university educational institution can be traced back to 1825.
 
 KIT now employs over 9,000 people, with more than half of them engaged in multidisciplinary research in the natural sciences, engineering, economics, humanities, and social sciences. As a result, the KIT is one of Europe's largest scientific institutions. KIT considers innovation to be one of their primary tasks, in addition to excellent teaching and cutting-edge research.
 
 In this way, they not only generate and disseminate knowledge for society and the environment, but also create economic applications from it. KIT's mission is to help humanity overcome global challenges by conducting pioneering research in the fields of energy, mobility, and information.  The university provides a wide range of educational opportunities, such as cross-disciplinary studies and work-study programs. At KIT, education tends to be theoretically oriented in the first semesters of a course, with a strong emphasis on mathematics for engineering and natural science courses. However students can choose between practical and theoretical topics in later semesters.
 
 Admission policies differ by department. While some departments choose students based on the quality of their high school diploma and extracurricular activities, other departments, such as physics, informatics, and meteorology, do not. Before students are allowed to complete their course, all courses require a minimum number of passed exams, known as Orientierungsprüfungen or orientation assessments, in the first three semesters.

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)

Public research university Saarland University is situated in Saarbrücken, the state capital of Germany's Saarland. In collaboration with France, it was established in Homburg in 1948. It is divided into six colleges, each of which focuses on a different area of science. The institution was acknowledged as Germany's premier center for computer science expertise in 2007.
 
 The Saarland University is renowned for its work in the fields of computer science, nanotechnology, medicine, politics, and the law. A private, state-accredited university in Berlin run by SRH Holding, OTA Hochschule was formerly known as SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences. In 2002, the university of applied sciences was established. The Bachelor's, Master's, and MBA programs at SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences are available in both German and English. The university of applied sciences is distinguished by its global partnerships with partner universities, its international focus and student body. The private institution now has more than 2200 students enrolled.

The Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg located in Oldenburg, Germany was founded in 1973, making it one of Germany‘s young universities. Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg

Witten/Herdecke University is a private, state-recognized, non-profit university in Witten, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It was the first private university in Germany to be accredited as a "Universität," a designation that acknowledges the university's academic standing as being on par with public universities and gives it the status to grant bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees as well as the German Habilitation.

For more than 30 years, the UW/H has provided courses with a future in the fields of business, politics, society, psychology, dentistry, and medicine. The University of Witten/Herdecke enrolls over 2,600 students and employs 582 people, including a faculty of 71 professors and 232 lecturers/researchers. Each year, graduate school awards a Ph.D. degree to about 100 Ph.D. candidates.
