The consortium structure of the program allows students to pursue a double degree in International Cooperation and Urban Development with specialisations in Development Economics (Rome), Sustainable Emergency Architecture (Barcelona) or Urban Planning (Grenoble). Technische Universität Darmstadt is the host institution for the Mundus Urbano Consortium. The Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM) is a private , state-recognized university of applied sciences and was founded in Bielefeld in 2000 by the Paderborn District Crafts Association, the Ostwestfalen-Lippe Chamber of Crafts in Bielefeld and the West German Chamber of Crafts . The shareholder today is the Education & Crafts Foundation from Paderborn. It offers bachelor's and master's degree programs in the fields of business, technology, media and communication, sports, health and nutrition, education and social affairs, and psychology.
 
 The FHM's studies are organized into trimesters. Courses are held during the first two months of each trimester. The exam preparation phase is followed by the exam phase for the module exams. Every event and module conclude with an examination. Full-time courses, part-time courses for professionals, distance learning courses, and dual study models developed in collaboration with industry are all available at the university.

Babelsberg's Konrad Wolf Film University (German: Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf) is Germany's oldest and largest film school.
