Informatics for the Natural Sciences

The program physics focus is on materials research related to semiconductor devices and functional materials. This comprises identification and characterization of new materials for future silicon-based nanotechnologies  the development and investigation of innovative semiconductor devices  as integrated sensors  on the basis of new physical concepts and/or materials as well as spectroscopic analysis of interfaces and nanostructures. Environmental Engineering program with a Master of Science degree at the TU Hamburg is aimed at ambitious engineers in the fields of environmental engineering, water management, civil engineering and related disciplines.
The International Master Program in Environmental Engineering at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) focuses on current developments in environmental technology, while also providing a solid grounding in the subject’s scientific and economic foundations. Students can specialise in one of three areas: Water, Waste and Energy or Biotechnology.

Joint European Master in Interdisciplinary Mathematics addresses several fields of interest from applied disciplines, specifically in biology and medicine on the one side, and industry and manufacturing on the other side. Our students acquire modelling skills and computational expertise needed to tackle practical problems in those fields, with a wide range of modelling techniques. However, each specialization branch provides more specific skills that are best suited to face problems arising in a selected list of contexts.
Note: All students will spend the first semester at UAQ. For the second semester, the cohort is split into two groups, one spending second semester in Hamburg (TUHH), the other one in Vienna (TUW).

Applicants who have conducted their university or secondary-school studies in an English-speaking institution will only have to verify that English is the medium of instruction in such institutions (to this purpose, you will find a dedicated section in the application form - no certificate submission required)

Joint European Master in Interdisciplinary Mathematics

Master in Mechanical Engineering and Management iis well suited for those who are interested in technologies and management at the same time. The Master program provides the in-depth knowledge required for a more research-oriented professional activity in epidemiological fields, as well as the skills to develop and communicate scientific results. Epidemiology examines the distribution and influencing factors of health-related conditions and events in the population and applied the knowledge gained to control health problems. The major aim of the Master program is the study of contemporary scientific methods based on western understanding of science in theory and practice for adequate measurement and diagnosis based on psychophysiological variables. Measuring brain states on the basis of the electromagnetic and haemodynamic activity of the brain, effects on different heart beat dependent variables, changes of skin resistance, variations in the infrared spectrum or the changes in gas discharge are just a few examples that will be taught in this degree for precise diagnosis of changes related to wellness. More specifically, some time for the studies of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda will be spent in China and India at our partner universities.

Sport Science - Movement and Well-Being

Master programme in Horticultural Sciences is offered in a comparable form by several European partner universities under joint use of a module pool agreed upon by all partners. The objective of the Master degree programme as a second professional qualifying degree in the field of horticultural sciences shall be to prepare students for a professional career or for pursuing a doctoral degree.
Note: If applicants wish to receive the Master degree from a partner university as well, they have to complete IMaHS pool courses there with a total number of at least 30 ECTS credits.

The programme focuses on animal and plant ecology and also includes aspects of sociobiology and other topics of organismic biology. Electrical Vehicle Propulsion and Control (E-PiCo) is an integrated Master course designed and conducted by partner institutions sharing a common vision of e-mobility: Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France, Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, Germany, Università degli Studi dell’Aquila, Italy and Universitatea Politehnica din Bucuresti, Romania.
E-PiCo is a 2-year Master programme that offers useful and necessary multidisciplinary topics in the e-mobility field. E-PiCo will provide technical and scientific solutions to the issue of fossil consumption and greenhouse gas emission. It is devised to train students in the field of e-mobility in order to have them work towards ecological transition. It is directly applicable to industry by training future electric propulsion system expert graduates.
