The Master of Arts degree in Sociology offers well-founded theoretical and methodological training and enables specialization opportunities in different areas. The overarching goal of the study program is to impart extensive theoretical and methodological knowledge to the students in the theory and method seminars as well as in all offered areas of general and special sociology. The special feature of the MA Sociology in Bielefeld is that the students are given maximum freedom of choice at the largest sociological institution in the country. In addition to an introduction and a final module  you can choose depending on your individual focus - and this during the course of your studies  not at the beginning.

The International Track is the English-language branch of the German-language Master programme. Accordingly  M.A. Sociology students can combine English- and German-language courses or complete the entire Master programme in English.

Transcultural Studies

This program for the subject American Studies is made up of the subfields American Studies, Culture Studies, and English Linguistics, and offers students the opportunity to gain and expand their literary, linguistic, and geographical knowledge in two university systems while reflecting on the differing perspectives.  This Bachelor degree is completed partly at JGU and partly at the partner university in Dijon. In this program, the subject American Studies is always combined with French. The course concludes with both a German and a French (License) university degree.

Medical Neurosciences focuses on translational research. The main objective is to bridge the gap between successes at the bench and treatment at the bedside. We integrate basic laboratory research and the clinic in terms of faculty, students, course content and infrastructure. The program covers the breadth of neuroscience from molecular neurobiology to cognition and neurovascular diseases.

Students have to pay an administrative fee of roughly 315 EUR per semester

English language proficiency can also be proven by an official statement certifying that relevant parts of your previous academic work (e.g. Bachelor thesis) have been completed in English

Medical Neurosciences

Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin

The Master in Management - International Triple Degree is a joint program between three universities. Students will spend their first semester at Loyola University New Orleans, where they take courses in basic management like financial and managerial accounting, organizational behavior and leadership, strategic marketing, managerial economics and statistics, and ethics and social justice. The second semester will take place at the SKEMA Business School in Paris. Students will deepen their knowledge in corporate finance, innovation and entrepreneurship, international project management, strategic stakeholder management and supply chain management. During their third semester at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, students will pursue courses like strategic communication, data-based decision making, competitive strategy and financial risk management. 

The Semester contributions totaling 138.00 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Basic Fee 75.00 EUR and Semester ticket fee 63.00 EUR

The BA European Studies Programme is an interdisciplinary course focussing on economic, social and culture sciences. As a central part of the course students will learn social and economic skills relevant to Europe. Master degree in High-Performance Sport is suitable for students interested in understanding the science behind elite and high-performance sports in all Its many different forms and in acquiring both theoretical expertise and practical skills in this field. Students on the programme also gain a deeper understanding of performance physiology, injury prevention and sports nutrition.
