Interactive Media Systems

The degree programme in response to the high demand for specialists in the real estate sector with an understanding of the commercial matters surrounding property and with the ability to implement projects in the areas of intelligent building Technology and sustainability. As the largest branch of industry in Germany  the real estate sector is also the largest producer of CO2 emissions. This programme teaches how smart Technology can be put to use in properties to help protect the environment and make a contribution to environmental sustainability.

Students will graduate from the programme qualified to conduct day-to-day business in the sector and to face the challenges smart building Technology presents  as well as to develop long-term strategies and visions for establishing a sustainable approach towards properties in their different asset classes.

They will have developed the ability to plan and optimise the processes involved in smart building management using Technology such as the Internet of Things  energy management tools and other platforms.

50% of the modules are taught in German and 50% of the modules are taught in English.

Master of Business Administration

The Master of Arts degree in Sociology offers well-founded theoretical and methodological training and enables specialization opportunities in different areas. The overarching goal of the study program is to impart extensive theoretical and methodological knowledge to the students in the theory and method seminars as well as in all offered areas of general and special sociology. The program physics focus is on materials research related to semiconductor devices and functional materials. This comprises identification and characterization of new materials for future silicon-based nanotechnologies  the development and investigation of innovative semiconductor devices  as integrated sensors  on the basis of new physical concepts and/or materials as well as spectroscopic analysis of interfaces and nanostructures. Moreover  concepts for the integration of new devices into existing technology platforms (e.g. the development of integrated THz radiation sources) and questions regarding technical reliability are major issues of research at the institute of physics of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. ASC stands for Advanced Signal Processing and Communications Engineering  and it is a new Master programme for students who want to specialize in this field.

The ASC programme is designed for students with Bachelor degree focusing on information and communication technology. Its diploma is recognized internationally and meets the requirements for subsequent doctoral studies. The four-semester curriculum starts in winter. All courses are taught in English and do not require prior knowledge in German language.

The program emphasizes on fundamental concepts of modern technologies in the areas of signal processing and communications. Moreover  through hands-on experiments and research projects  students can build a solid understanding in one or more of the technical subjects  including information theory  statistical signal processing  machine learning  optimization  and game theory.

The programme provides participants with a solid foundation in principles of governance, public policy and management, empowering them to lead teams and organisations, shape decision-making and manage change in the workplace. Participants choose one of three areas of concentration, which cover subjects with ever-increasing relevance for managers, decision-makers and leaders working in the public sector, business and civil society: 1. The selection committee may decide to invite preselected candidates to a phone or skype interview. The committee also decides on the admissions for the new Executive MPA cohort.

Semester contribution includes 95 EUR per semester to the studierendenwerk BERLIN. Part-time students in the Executive MPA are not eligible for a public transport ticket

Candidates who are native speakers do not need to submit English proficiency test results. Non-native speakers who can provide proof of substantial work experience or study in English may not have to provide a language test. Short-term study abroad, au-pair home stays or language school certificates will not be accepted as test replacements
