The study program is aimed exclusively at FaMIs and qualified employees in libraries and information institutions. For libraries this course offers targeted further qualification for your employees. Competencies from practice are recognized in the study program and classified in an overall context. Graduates are able to analyze complex issues in information management and to assess them with regard to implementation in an information facility, to develop and implement their own ideas for the further development of information services. In doing so, you take current scientific findings into account.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

With the Bachelor in Information Systems you will acquire exciting knowledge in the fields of business and information processing systems. Whether Programming, Hacking and IT Security or E-Business - the Bachelor of Business Informatics brings you closer to various subject areas and thus combines the basis of business administration with current trends and challenges of business informatics. If you are studying Business Informatics, your studies will be strongly oriented towards the current industry change with consulting projects, workshops and experienced lecturers from the business world. You will also gain your first professional experience through integrated internships at home or abroad.
Note: The program can also be completed under 7 semester duration within global track that includes an integrated semester abroad in the fourth semester. During the semester abroad, you will not only get to know international IT trends, but also acquire valuable intercultural and linguistic skills.

It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.

Students from EU and EWR have to pay an enrollment fee of 600 EUR and Non-EU-students have to pay 1500 EUR

Information Systems

International School of Management (ISM)

International Management program teaches you a wide range of business topics and thus combines the classic management principles of business studies with international requirements. If you are studying International Management, your studies will be highly practice-oriented thanks to compulsory internships in Germany or abroad, workshops, consulting projects and experienced lecturers from the business world.
Note: The program can also be completed under 7 semester duration within global track that includes an integrated semester abroad in the fourth semester. During the semester abroad, you will not only gain international management knowledge, but also expand your language skills and intercultural Competencies.

Foreign applicants who cannot certify a B2-level in German do have to take German as second foreign language during their studies

International Management

The Master degree program with a focus on political and legal content imparts knowledge of European politics, European institutions and European law. A special feature of the European Master is that the participants of a year study and live together in three countries and three languages.

European Studies

Quantum mechanics determines our understanding of physical processes on a microscopic scale. On the verge of the second quantum revolution, the aim of the program is now to pave the way for the application of fundamental quantum physics in industrial fields. Once the program is complete students will be able to use their technological expertise in individual specific fields of application to transfer quantum technology solutions from the basic research laboratory to practice.

The International Master programme in Ecosystem Services provides students with the knowledge base and methods to analyse pressing environmental problems and to develop societally relevant solutions. A special focus lies on inter-transdisciplinary approaches from the natural and the social sciences in order to conserve and sustainably use biodiversity as well as to secure the sustainable provision of ecosystem services for present and future generations. The Master course in Mathematics combines fundamentals in a broad range of mathematical areas with the free choice of a non-mathematical minor and Study of Mathematics with Economics, though in general similar to the Mathematics version, puts more emphasis on the areas of mathematics with and application in Business Studies. Graduates of Mathematics are sought after by nearly all economic sectors such as Insurance companies, banks, market research and polling institutes, consulting firms, software and systems companies, engineering firms or research institutes. A option of Double degree programme is also available for this this course. This program can also be completed as part time with semester duration of 6 or 8, where each semester offers respective individual credit points.

Double Master Programme in Demography and Social Inequality emphasis on topics related to demographic changes and dimensions of social inequalities, students receive a strong training in quantitative research methods and data analysis tools, learn how to apply these methods and tools to research questions related to migration, education, health, income and changing family structures, develop interdisciplinary research skills and gain in-depth views of human demographic behaviour, and get a better understanding of current issues related to social inequalities and cohesion.
