The Master program genome based system technology course gives access to a new interdisciplinary research field  systems biology  where molecular life science and modern physico-chemical techniques and mathematical-bioinformatic methods synergize.Systems biology comprises a lot of disciplines. In this field biology joins forces with e.g. bioinformatics  mathematics and physics. The common target is to understand the functionality of cells  organs or even complete organisms.
With a Master degree in "Genome Based Systems Biology" you can e.g. work on biotechnological projects  study diseases or investigate alternative forms of energy. You are well prepared for a career as well in science as in economy.
This research oriented Master course  with less than 18 students per academic year  enables an intensive supervision and sufficient time to learn the use of complex instruments and evaluate and analyze complex data.
This interdisciplinary Master course follows the tradition of Bielefeld University - communication and cooperation are therefore deeply embedded.Aim of systems biology is to establish computer-based models of processes in the living cell allowing to predict the performance of metabolic pathways  cells  organs or whole organisms under certain conditions.

All courses and lectures are given either in German or in English. Therefore German as well as English language skills are prerequisite.

The Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC) is a research and education center in intellectual property and competition law based in Munich, Germany. It was founded in 2003. The MIPLC is a collaboration between the Law School at George Washington University and three top-notch German institutions: the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, the University of Augsburg, and the Technical University of Munich (TUM). In addition, the MIPLC organizes scientific conferences. 
 
 Because of its international faculty and students from all over the world, the MIPLC offers a truly international and interdisciplinary experience. Our program is much smaller than others, with a maximum of 38 students per year. This ensures intensive interaction among students, professors, and staff, as well as personalized assistance.
 
 Their study program is specialized, fully accredited, and intensive, making it suitable for both lawyers and science/engineering graduates, as well as students from other backgrounds. The modules are taught entirely in English and are designed to teach all practical aspects of intellectual property through simulations, case studies, and an optional internship.
 
 The study program, like the students, is truly international and interdisciplinary here. They hold degrees in law, economics, engineering, natural sciences, and other disciplines. The Ruhr University Bochum (German: Ruhr-Universität Bochum, RUB) is a public research university located in the southern hills of the central Ruhr area, Bochum, Germany. Being founded on 1962, the Ruhr-University Bochum is one of the largest universities in Germany and part of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, the most important German research funding organization.
 
 One of the first universities in Germany to offer international bachelor's and master's degrees in place of the conventional Diplom and Magister was the University of Bochum. With a few exceptions, such as the law school, all of the Ruhr-faculties University's offer these degrees. The institution currently offers 184 distinct study programs that span all of the academic subjects it is represented in.
 
 The state of North Rhine-Westphalia supports and oversees Ruhr University. The University of Lübeck is a research institution with a strong emphasis on the medical sciences and related fields. It is located in Lübeck, Northern Germany. The University of Lübeck was established as a stand-alone research facility in Schleswig-Holstein in 1973.

They provide degree programs in the natural sciences, engineering, computer science, and medicine. Interdisciplinary programs that combine the scientific sciences, computer science, and medicine provide students with a modern education that is supported by the best possible medical care. Due to faculty cooperation, collaboration with other universities in Lübeck, the Research Center Borstel, the Medical Laser Centre, and local enterprises, the environment for developing and using novel technologies, diagnostics, and therapies are optimal here. The quality of research at their institution, which is now characterized by two specialized fields of study, is strengthened by collaboration with national and international research centers.
The Universität zu Lübeck has a small student population (3,400) compared to other institutions, but it has a favourable teacher-to-student ratio. The excellent academic status of their students in medicine and computer science demonstrates the high caliber of the instruction.

The University of Lübeck is unique in that it is organized into three sections rather than departments or faculties, with the sections of Informatics/Engineering and Natural Sciences coming together under the title MINT. Along with the divisions that highlight the university's research character, the centers at the Universität zu Lübeck are an essential component of the organizational structure.

Students may attend the Universität zu Lübeck for one or two semesters while participating in the ERASMUS program.
