The Environmental and Resource Management study programme offers an integrated approach to current environmental issues. Recognising that these issues can no longer be solved by a single discipline  the programme combines the knowledge of several closely related fields. Classes are offered in fundamental technical subjects as well as in natural sciences  sociology  and economics. Starting from this basis  more specific courses deal with current environmental issues such as techniques of resource protection  concepts of environmental planning  risk and impact assessment  as well as socioeconomic implications. The acquisition of management and social skills  and technical and scientific knowledge are therefore highly valued and considered indispensable.

All applicants with a German higher education entrance qualification can apply directly to the myBTU portal for their desired course of study programme. This applied also for students who are or were already enrolled at one of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg locations and would like to apply for a Bachelor's study programme or a change of study programme.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

The Executive MPA is designed for leaders who want to acquire the knowledge and tools needed to address the challenges of modern governance. The programme provides participants with a solid foundation in principles of governance, public policy and management, empowering them to lead teams and organisations, shape decision-making and manage change in the workplace. Participants choose one of three areas of concentration, which cover subjects with ever-increasing relevance for managers, decision-makers and leaders working in the public sector, business and civil society: 1. Leading innovation and managing change. 2. digitisation and big data. 3. Global governance challenges.

The selection committee may decide to invite preselected candidates to a phone or skype interview. The committee also decides on the admissions for the new Executive MPA cohort.

Semester contribution includes 95 EUR per semester to the studierendenwerk BERLIN. Part-time students in the Executive MPA are not eligible for a public transport ticket

Candidates who are native speakers do not need to submit English proficiency test results. Non-native speakers who can provide proof of substantial work experience or study in English may not have to provide a language test.  The theoretical component of the six dual bachelor's courses is held at our sustainability campus in Elmshorn (Schleswig-Holstein), while the postgraduate and further training courses are held at the NORDAKADEMIE Graduate School in Hamburg. The NORDAKADEMIE is a collaboration partner with over 20 years of experience in dual study programs with over 700 companies. The Fachhochschule Wedel University of Applied Sciences gGmbH is one of the few private but non-profit universities of applied sciences in Germany.  It is founded in 1948.

Well-coordinated bachelor's and master's courses in computer science, technology, and business are among the available courses. Campus space measures 20,000 square meters. Here, 1,300 students use contemporary workshops, labs, and computer facilities.

The dual study concept is an option for all courses. The FH Wedel University of Applied Sciences is a university of applied sciences, hence its research and teaching are more practical in nature than those at universities. Students who are also working students apply their knowledge through exercises, projects, or other activities.

Since 1996, the university has been providing a semester abroad. It initially depended on collaboration with universities abroad. Later, new European nations were integrated through the Erasmus program. The institution presently collaborates with about 30 partner universities across the globe.

Around 200 businesses collaborate especially closely with the Wedel University of Applied Sciences as Wedeler Hochschulbund eV (WHB) members.
