Both the teaching and research work within the Master program focuses on the transformation from fossil energy systems to 100% renewable energy systems in order to achieve the goal of having a maximum increase of the global average temperature of 1.5°C by the year 2050. In order to achieve this  energy system models are built  and measures are developed to allow for the implementation of renewable energy systems. The international study programme Chemistry of Materials is research-oriented and provides  based on the education in a qualified undergraduate degree programme  the ability to work independently in a modern  interdisciplinary field at the interface between chemistry  physics and materials science. This two-year course is offered jointly with Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), one of Germany's newest and most successful universities. Year 1 is completed at Strathclyde and Year 2 in Hamburg. The award is made in the name of both universities.

In the Entrepreneurship Master you will be trained for business management: Whether founding, developing or establishing a successful start-up. From the first business idea to the mature business plan, you will develop business models in practical projects and thus be optimally prepared for entering the start-up ecosystem.
Course is also available in Fast Track basis. Under fast track basis, semester abroad is omitted and you shorten your internship period. This allows you to complete your Master degree in only 3 semesters with 90 ECTS.
Note: In the Entrepreneurship program you can earn an international double degree. With the double degree, in addition to the Master degree at ISM, you also earn a Master degree at an international partner university. Depending on the partner university, this is even possible as part of the integrated semester abroad, which means that you receive two Master degrees in two or two and a half years.

Students from EU and EWR have to pay an enrollment fee of 600 EUR and Non-EU-students have to pay 1500 EUR
