The Master program in Mathematics prepares students well for future requirements in academia and in the global job market as it is designed to be flexible. The program provides a choice where students can choose between a theory-oriented program, where students deal with mathematical topics at the cutting edge of research within the framework of the special teaching format of reading courses, among other things, and an application-oriented variant, in which students study in addition a second subject, such as biology, chemistry, electrical engineering, geosciences, computer science, philosophy, physics, production engineering, or economics. Career prospects include handling, analyzing and evaluating large amounts of data, creating and interpreting complex climate models, prototype design in industry, finance and insurance, software development, management consulting, data security as well as medicine or digital communication.
