The Master of Science in Mathematics puts a strong focus on in-depth studies in a broad spectrum of pure and applied mathematical subjects. The Master programme gives you a lot of flexibility and academic freedom: You can choose from a variety of courses within our focus areas: geometry and analysis on manifolds, topology, operator algebras and non-commutative geometry, algebra, applied analysis, numerics and scientific computing, probability theory and applications, and mathematical logic.

The Semester contributions totalling 316.03 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Student union fee 99.11 EUR, Supplementary student insurance fee 0.23 EUR, University Sports fee 1.40 EUR, Student body fee 11.75 EUR, University radio station fee 0.30 EUR, Semester ticket for cultural events fee 3.40 EUR and Semester ticket 199.84 EUR
Minimum requirement includes a mathematical Bachelor degree programme (or comparable) at a German or foreign university with a proportion of studies of 120 ECTS points in mathematics with an average grade of 3.0 or better.
German Abitur certificate can also be accepted as a proof of English language proficiency
Applicants must submit proof of academic and examination achievements (example Transcript of Records and Syllabus/Course Descriptions) and completed questionnaire for admission to the Master of Science in Mathematics
