The Bachelor of Arts with American studies learn the theoretical fundamentals of the subject as well as practical language skills and intercultural competence. This program intended for students with a wide-ranging interest in the languages, the literature, the cultures, and the history of North American.  American Studies is interdisciplinary and includes literature, culture, history, social policy, and politics. The programme consists of a core with 9 modules and a minor with 10 modules as part of programme structure.

American Studies (Two-subject)

Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz

 The protection and the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems are at the center of the MSc Environmental Sciences programme at Freiburg University. Environmental Sciences is a comparatively young discipline, which deals with the impact of humans on the environment. The Environmental Sciences are shaped by interdisciplinary links with Forest Sciences, Geosciences, Geography and Hydrology. By combining theory-driven modules with a number of application-oriented modules, students are provided with opportunities to apply and develop strategies for environmental problems at a regional, national and international level. 

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

Environmental Sciences

University of Freiburg

Master programme in Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) attaches great importance to a theoretically well-founded academic education. Specific conflicts and cases are analysed within the courses offered and practical skills of conflict management are trained within special practice modules. The Master programme in Peace and Conflict Studies at the Otto-von-Guericke-University, Magdeburg is part of the Helmut-Schmidt-Programme of the German Academic Exchange Service and the German Federal Foreign Office.

Peace and Conflict Studies

Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg

The International Master programme in Ecosystem Services provides students with the knowledge base and methods to analyse pressing environmental problems and to develop societally relevant solutions. A special focus lies on inter-transdisciplinary approaches from the natural and the social sciences in order to conserve and sustainably use biodiversity as well as to secure the sustainable provision of ecosystem services for present and future generations. Master in Business Administration focus on one of the four areas of Accounting, Finance, Management or Marketing. In addition, students can supplement skills by choosing a minor in Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Information Systems, Management, Marketing, Business Research or Economics. The diverse combination options of major and minor allow  to concentrate on what interests and tailor studies to individual preferences and needs.

The Master programme in European Master in Migration and Intercultural Relations provides state of the art education in theoretical concepts, empirical methods and transdisciplinary approaches to migration studies. The program will address issues that currently rank highly on the global agenda, and need expertise on transnational, transcultural and transdisciplinary level. The cross-cutting aim is to promote problem solving skills and the ability of knowledge transfer. European Master in Migration and Intercultural Relations

The Bachelor program in English Studies is focused on the research and teaching of the English language, Anglophone literature and society and culture in various English-speaking countries, as well as teaching these subjects in schools and other institutions. The goal of this programme is to help students gain linguistic and cultural competencies through the acquisition of technical and language skills that can be utilised or conveyed relevant professional situations.

The Master in European Management provides a unique intercultural study experience at leading European universities to prepare students for the demands of the Management labor market. Students in this program spend one year at the University of Tübingen and one year at the partner University of Nottingham. They are able to choose from a broad range of courses at both universities to tailor the contents of the program to their specific needs. In addition to the Master in European Management, students are granted a Master degree from their partner university. With this additional qualification, graduates have a wider range of employment possibilities in different countries and multinationally operating companies.
