The research-oriented Media and Communication Science Master program is a social-scientific oriented program whose main objective is the exploration of media communication. The program combines content from the fields of communication sciences, media technology, economic sciences and law. The program is research oriented and closely connected with current, medium and long-term research activities of the Institute for Media and Communication Studies (IfMK). This Master program focuses on facilitate students to acquire knowledge and Competencies in theoretical approaches, research methods and findings concerning media communication in a research oriented course.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

The International Master programme in Ecosystem Services provides students with the knowledge base and methods to analyse pressing environmental problems and to develop societally relevant solutions. A special focus lies on inter-transdisciplinary approaches from the natural and the social sciences in order to conserve and sustainably use biodiversity as well as to secure the sustainable provision of ecosystem services for present and future generations. Mathematics and physics are closely related. On the one hand, mathematics provides the methods for investigating certain problems in physics. On the other hand, increasingly complex physical theories, such as quantum mechanics or string theory, significantly affect the development of new mathematical theories. This international program in mathematical physics is interdisciplinary, allowing students to expand upon their math skills and work in a research team. Students can focus on either math or physics.

Mathematical Physics

The Master course in Mathematics combines fundamentals in a broad range of mathematical areas with the free choice of a non-mathematical minor and Study of Mathematics with Economics, though in general similar to the Mathematics version, puts more emphasis on the areas of mathematics with and application in Business Studies. Graduates of Mathematics are sought after by nearly all economic sectors such as Insurance companies, banks, market research and polling institutes, consulting firms, software and systems companies, engineering firms or research institutes. A option of Double degree programme is also available for this this course. This program can also be completed as part time with semester duration of 6 or 8, where each semester offers respective individual credit points.

The International Graduate Studies in Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary study program. Students of Mechatronics join from all around the world so the course is designed to first integrate the knowledge of students coming from various fields and cultures (alignment subjects).
