The packaging, regardless of the material and for which product, has meanwhile become ubiquitous and taken for granted. Very few are aware of the small technical marvels they are holding in their hands and how much know-how is behind them. Every food is different and is therefore produced and packaged differently. The development of packaging that ensures that the product tastes good and looks good even weeks later brings together a wide range of disciplines such as materials and their sustainability, business administration, design, process engineering, robotics and microbiology. The topics of sustainability and recycling will become even more important in the future.
In the Bachelor degree, you will acquire the scientific and practical expertise to develop packaging that meets these diverse requirements.
Note: If you start your studies in the summer semester, you will study in the StudyFLEX program. What does StudyFLEX mean? The basic course is stretched from 2 to 3 semesters and supplemented by supporting events (bridging courses, tutorials, mentoring, study advice, orientation in the professional field). The originally 7-semester course is thus designed for 8 semesters, in which 210 cp are acquired. At the beginning of your studies, you gain time to refresh your scientific basis, to develop your learning strategy and to get to know the professional field. 

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

The objective of the English-language Functional Materials Master program is a research-oriented education in the field of modern functional materials, which are becoming increasingly important in the engineered world. Robotic Systems Engineering

The Master degree program in Physics students acquire the necessary skills to become acquainted with current topics in physics, to design and conduct experiments or theoretical methods in this field, to categorize the results and to draw conclusions for application to technical developments and scientific progress. Nanoscience

The Master degree programme Engineering of Socio-Technical Systems is a specialized academic curriculum that take an interdisciplinary approach to the development of safety-critical, computer-based interactive systems, and particularly focus on the interaction between humans and technology.  This Master degree programme offers students a unique opportunity to follow an intricate mix of Computing Science and Psychology courses, especially cognitive and perception psychology.
