The English-language North American Studies Master program deals with the complex literature and cultures of North American, particularly the USA and Canada, but also the Caribbean and Latin American, and performs interdisciplinary teaching and research work. Central investigative aspects are the multifaceted interculturalism of the respective countries, which are analyzed using newly developed, transnational and cross-border methods and disciplines, among others. The program qualifies graduates for working in research and teaching in the field of North American literature and cultural studies, in editorial professions (journalism, publishing), mediation roles in the intercultural field (language, cultural mediation), professions in administrative services, work in foreign service (EU, UN, embassies) and in international corporations (public relations, management).

The Semester contributions totalling 354.17 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Student union fee 90.50 EUR, Student Body fee 14.00 EUR, Semester ticket fee 199.67 EUR and Administrative fee 50 EUR
Minimum entry requirements include a Bachelor degree in the fields of American Studies, Brith Studies or Anglophone Studies or discipline-relevant program.
Cambridge CAE and FCE, UNIcert III, Cambridge IGCSE with level C1, are accepted proof of language proficiency
