The M.Sc. program in Organic Agriculture and Food Systems offers an insight into all important steps of the food chain, from primary production to quality control. Moreover, students acquire interdisciplinary, solutions-based, analytical skills necessary to meet the demands faced by employees at all levels, in both the public and the private sector. Organic Farming is based on a holistic approach and management practices differ from conventional farming. Thus, growing, processing and marketing of organic food requires special skills and knowledge. Furthermore, the growth of the organic sector together with current challenges in agriculture like climate change, resource protection and food security need interdisciplinary approaches and systematic understanding for research and professional practice.
