Master

The International Master programme in Ecosystem Services provides students with the knowledge base and methods to analyse pressing environmental problems and to develop societally relevant solutions. A special focus lies on inter-transdisciplinary approaches from the natural and the social sciences in order to conserve and sustainably use biodiversity as well as to secure the sustainable provision of ecosystem services for present and future generations. Graduates of the programme will have access to career opportunities in various fields such as research and education, public administration, business, economic and policy consultancy, International organisations, non-governmental organisations or scientific management and coordination.

Mathematics and physics are closely related. On the one hand, mathematics provides the methods for investigating certain problems in physics. On the other hand, increasingly complex physical theories, such as quantum mechanics or string theory, significantly affect the development of new mathematical theories. This international program in mathematical physics is interdisciplinary, allowing students to expand upon their math skills and work in a research team. Students can focus on either math or physics.

Mathematical Physics

The Master course in Mathematics combines fundamentals in a broad range of mathematical areas with the free choice of a non-mathematical minor and Study of Mathematics with Economics, though in general similar to the Mathematics version, puts more emphasis on the areas of mathematics with and application in Business Studies. Graduates of Mathematics are sought after by nearly all economic sectors such as Insurance companies, banks, market research and polling institutes, consulting firms, software and systems companies, engineering firms or research institutes. A option of Double degree programme is also available for this this course. This program can also be completed as part time with semester duration of 6 or 8, where each semester offers respective individual credit points.

This Master program provides a broad understanding and knowledge in the fields of Communication and Information Technology, e.g. wireless communication systems. It also introduces non-technical subjects dealing with economics, legal and social issues and leads to the required skills for entry into the professions of Information and Communication Engineering. Graduates from Communication and Information Technology are sought after in a wide range of fields including industrial and non-industrial research, planning, development, implementation, production, distribution, and maintenance of all types of information technology systems.

Master in Information Systems provides theoretical and methodological basis for dealing with key issues such as data science, digital transformation and innovation, processes and business models as well as solutions for a sustainable society, education in the interdisciplinary field of information systems, which has Its roots in computer science, economics, and business management, and the key capability to bridge business management and computer science that is often required in the labour market.

Information Systems

University of Cologne

The International Graduate Studies in Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary study program. Students of Mechatronics join from all around the world so the course is designed to first integrate the knowledge of students coming from various fields and cultures (alignment subjects). 
In the second and third semester relatively complex courses are offered providing students with broad knowledge in mechanical as well as electrical engineering.

The Master degree program in Physics enables in-depth academic study with a specialization in a research area.
