The aim of the Master program is to provide in-depth knowledge and skills acquired in the Bachelor program for the development and implementation of cognitive  information-processing systems  with particular reference to current scientific knowledge. In addition  the students are increasingly instructed to work independently according to the scientific principles of cognitive computer science.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

Intelligent Systems

Bielefeld University

Cyber Security is a scientific programme  in which you learn to understand how the Security Building Blocks work and what are their limits including mathematics behind cryptography. Based on this  you gain knowledge needed to design and develop new algorithms/approaches against specific cyber threats as well as critically evaluate their limits. The programme is not about how to configure a firewall or to run a pen testing tool  it is about academic content with in depth understanding of underlying techniques and principles.

Master entrance qualification German, All applicants with a German university entrance qualification can apply directly to the myBTU portal, Master entrance qualification Foreign, Students who received their last entrance qualification abroad and wish to apply for a Master programme have to apply via Uni-assist Portal.

It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.

Cyber security

The international Master degree in Power Engineering is to impart knowledge about sustainable energy supply in a European context. The main focus of the course is the concept of safe  inexpensive and environmentally friendly energy production as one of the most urgent global challenges of the 21st century. The course works closely with regional and national energy suppliers in order to ensure a practical education that enables students to carry out independent and applied research work. The program covers the entire spectrum of energy research in the field of traditional and renewable energies and has an industrial orientation. Some of the lectures and seminars are held by lecturers with practical experience.

Power engineering

The innovative M.Sc. programme Clean Energy Processes is enabling students
to deepen their knowledge in chemical engineering  process engineering and
electrical engineering while allowing students to choose one of two specialisations. In the specialisation „energy technologies“  fundamental methods for the
development and implementation of new technologies for the generation and
conversion of renewable energies are studied in-depth. In the field of study „energy systems“  competencies are acquired in particular in the application areas
of the further development of energy systems. Methods are deepened which facilitate the design of process chains for the generation  utilization and integration of renewable energies in the energy system and integration of renewable
energies in chemical processes.
The programme is designed to allow students to create an individually tailored
curriculum with laboratory courses  elective modules and modules from both
specialisations. Students will gain hands-on experience through laboratory
courses and a mandatory internship that can be conducted either in industry or
a research institution in Germany or abroad and make use of the numerous contacts of the programme to industry and academia preparing them for demanding tasks in engineering.

Master programme in Religion in the Public Sphere (double degree Track) focuses on the current debate concerning religion in various areas of the public sphere. Geographically, the emphasis is initially on Europe, leading to subsequent international comparisons. This concerns the discourse on religion (e.g. exemptions for religion in social spheres) as well as discourses on individual religions (e.g. Christianity as cultural heritage, Islam as a challenge, and Buddhism as a modern philosophy of life). As such, this Master of Arts in Religion in the Public Sphere differs from many traditional Religious Studies programmes, which tend to focus on religious practice in religious communities.
A special feature of the programme is that it gives students the option of gaining a double degree instead of just the Master degree in Hannover. This is made possible through cooperation with the universities of Södertörn (Sweden) and Roma Tre (Italy).
