Embedded systems are omnipresent in technical installations and utilities and, as "hidden" systems, form a key technology in terms of product innovations in mechanical and plant engineering as well as in medical and scientific devices and instruments. The University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven supports and furthers such development with the Master Programme "Embedded Systems Design". An embedded system includes mechanical or mechatronic systems which assume Its essential function through open or closed loop control using electronic components as well as the required software. Modules such as Digital Systems/VHDL, System-on Chip Design,  mechatronic and discrete control systems enable students to develop and implement innovative embedded systems.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

Embedded Systems Design

Master programme in Applied Mathematics for Network and Data Sciences provides in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in various fields of applied mathematics which are essential to the design and operation of digital media; in particular they have in-depth knowledge in automata theory, coding theory, cryptology, mathematical network analysis, stochastic modeling, computational intelligence as well as simulation and visualization. They are qualified to acquire new knowledge from other fields of mathematics and computer science by themselves, to recognise future scientific and technological trends and to incorporate them into their academic or professional work.

The objective of the Master degree programme in Physics is not to lead students to become highly-specialised experts, but rather, to allow them to develop flexibility and scientific self-reliance. Its laws are typically expressed in the language of mathematics. Potential career options range from research and development at universities, research institutions, and in industry to positions in IT and communications firms or in management consultancy.

Physics Fast Track

In the degree program, students work strongly application-oriented and system-oriented. They learn to think in an interdisciplinary way in larger system contexts and to design, specify, design, test and accept systems within a frequently larger international team. These include, the development of new defense and security systems, taking into account specific requirements, such as operability, special material and system properties such as security against eavesdropping or disruptibility, but also extreme climatic conditions, interoperability or robustness. The focus of the work is the interaction of individual components and modules to a holistic system or subsystem for military use or to improve civil security.

In the program of Automotive Engineering students are taught the technological basis and in-depth knowledge in the conception and the development of passenger cars and commercial vehicles, and optionally of motorcycles and off-highway vehicles. Course modules cover all of the vehicle’s main domains such as chassis, body, drivetrain, safety, driver assistance systems and others. Graduates will be proficient in relevant technological areas like vehicle dynamics, energy efficiency, acoustics, mechatronics, structural fatigue and durability.

It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.

Automotive Engineering

RWTH Aachen University

Awarded by TUM, the program is conducted in Singapore and aims to equip graduates with integrated knowledge in the fields of Railway Subsystems (infrastructure, vehicles, traffic control), Transportation and Logistics. The student will learn how to analyse and assess the various traffic scenarios of the different transport modes and how to find appropriate solutions.

The ongoing miniaturisation in the microelectronics industry leads to systems that are now being referred to as nanoelectronic systems. The Master program in Nanoelectronic system focuses on three key areas; technologies for nanoelectronic systems, design of nanoelectronic systems and applications of nanoelectronic systems. Practical training is also offered in the program in parallel with theoretical concept.
