Molecular Biosciences

The Bachelor degree in English aims to provide a solid basic education in linguistics and literature as well as the acquisition of a German-French double degree (Bachelor of Education and Licence). The main idea is to impart methodological skills and historical knowledge, theoretical knowledge and practical skills. This degree in English, consisting of the specific sub-areas American Studies, Culture Studies and English Linguistics, offers students the opportunity to acquire literary, linguistic and cultural knowledge in two university systems, to deepen them and to reflect on the respective perspective. This degree programme consists of study in JGU and at the partner university in Dijon. The course concludes with both a German and a French university degree (License).

Microbiology is the science and study of micro-organisms, i.e. organisms that cannot be examined as individuals with the naked eye. Microbiologists study microbes and research physiology, ecology and the interaction of microorganisms. The students of the international Master program Microbiology acquire in-depth knowledge in the field of microbiology, especially in the areas of molecular microbiology, microbial physiology and biotechnology as well as microbial ecology. There is a clear research-oriented focus with regard to the diverse areas of application in industry, biotechnology, medicine, pharmacy, food technology, waste management, soil remediation or materials research. This is a International double degree program in cooperation with the Université de Bourgogne in Dijon, France.
