The Master degree program 'Energy and Environmental Management - Industrial Countries' provides the necessary knowledge and skills to design the energy system required for the future. To cope with the biggest challenge of the 21st century  man-made climate change  we must convert 100% of the world's energy supply to renewable energy sources over the next few decades and to optimize the supply and use of energy.

Both the teaching and research work within the Master program focuses on the transformation from fossil energy systems to 100% renewable energy systems in order to achieve the goal of having a maximum increase of the global average temperature of 1.5°C by the year 2050. In order to achieve this  energy system models are built  and measures are developed to allow for the implementation of renewable energy systems. Additionally  political economy studies help to identify barriers of the transformation and to develop appropriate local solutions. In doing so  we do not lose sight of the socially just and environmentally compatible perspectives in addition to the technical and economic perspectives. The possibilities of energy sufficiency and sustainability as well as the investigation of justice and gender aspects also play special role within the team’s research.



Courses in the degree program 'Industrialized Countries' are mainly taught in English. Only individual elective modules are in German. This enables students without German language skills to complete the Master degree program in Energy and Environmental Management.

This degree program is currently not subject to any admission restrictions.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

In the Master of Logistics and Supply Chain Management you will not only deal with logistics processes, operations research, transportation models and value chains, but you will also be sensitized to current topics such as sustainability, smart mobility and capacity planning. The German University in Cairo (GUC), which opened its Berlin branch in October 2012, aims to create a space for German-Egyptian encounter as well as a hub for international academic, scientific, and cultural exchange. Students at the GUC Berlin Branch will be able to study in English in Berlin, Germany, where they will be able to not only pursue their academic careers but also gain valuable life experience during their stay in the German capital. 
 
 The campus is conveniently located in the beautiful district of Alt-Tegel close to the Tegeler See (lake), the second largest lake in Berlin. The eastern side of Tegler See leads to a harbor known as Borsighafen, which was the landing pier for the once-famous Borsigwerke (Borsig works).
 
 All academic programs/courses at the GUC Berlin branch are taught in English by renowned German and international professors and lecturers. The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) is used to create curricula with international compatibility to promote student mobility and ensure high quality and transparency of recognition procedures. GUC Berlin

The Hamburg Media School (HMS) has existed in a creative tension between academic training, art, and practice since its inception in 2003. Talented young people are trained and prepared for the transition into the artistic, economic, and academic centers of the digital and media industries.
 
 The HMS offers a variety of courses in management, journalism, and film, ranging from state-recognized university master's courses and a bachelor's degree in digital media to extra-occupational training courses. Furthermore, HMS supports the digital transformation through a wide range of research projects: trend reports, scientific papers, and application-oriented commissioned studies are created in collaboration with renowned cooperation partners.
 
 The HMS is a public-private partnership, with more than 50 companies, primarily from the media sector, participating as donors and sponsors in addition to the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the University of Hamburg, and the Hamburg University of Fine Arts. Close collaboration with the digital and media economies, as well as training and research partners, ensures interdisciplinary, scientifically sound, and practice-oriented education. Small class sizes allow for more personal interaction between students and teachers, as well as more intensive support.
 
 The Hamburg Media School is also locally integrated into a dense network of universities, companies, and creative people on the Hamburg art and media campus. A modern media infrastructure is available thanks to the HMS's carriage of the TV and radio station TIDE.

Hamburg Media School

The Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, founded on January 1, 1995, is a dynamic and research-oriented university. It is located in the heart of the liveable Rhineland and offers around 9,500 students ideal learning and research opportunities, supervised by around 1,000 employees, 150 of whom are professors. The H-BRS is intensively involved in practical research works. A total of 17 research institutes covers a wide range of topics from detection technologies, genetics, sustainable development, resource conservation, security research and visual computing. 
 
 The university has 3 campuses: Hennef, Rheinbach, and Sankt Augustin. Together with the University and RWTH Aachen University, it runs the Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology (b-it) in Bonn. Students at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences can expect practice-oriented studies based on current research findings in approximately 40 courses. There is also a variety of continuing education and certificate programs available.
 
 The professors have backgrounds in both science and business. They consider an excellent technical infrastructure and well-equipped laboratories to be as natural as numerous PC pools, university-wide W-Lan, a modern university and district library, and an active campus life. The H-BRS consolidates its numerous cooperative doctorates in the university's own graduate institute; currently, over 90 doctoral students are enrolled at the H-BRS for doctoral studies.
 
 H-BRS describes its strategic goals for teaching, research, transfer, international affairs, and sustainability in the current university development plan (HEP3). H-BRS has an excellent technical infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, and PC pools with network access. In our university and district libraries in Sankt Augustin, Rheinbach and Hennef you can borrow the latest media, even as a guest user. The university 's own language centre offers general and specialist language courses.

Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg

Finding a room is not that easy around this University. We highly recommend to search for a room as soon as you get an admission from your university.

The International School of Management (ISM) is a state-recognized private university. The ISM International School of Management gGmbH, headquartered in Dortmund, is the sponsor. Klaus Evard founded the university in 1990 as the IDB business academy, and it was renamed the International School of Management (ISM) in 1992. It was designated as a private university of applied sciences in 1994. The Quality Community Euro-Schools-Organization purchased the company's shares in 1998.
 
 ISM is internationally oriented from the core with students coming from 84 nationalities, many international lecturers and over 56 additional guest lecturers. Students at the ISM develop lingual and intercultural skills through intensive foreign language training as well as integrated foreign semesters at one of around 190 ISM partner universities and internships abroad. This international focus is reflected in all the ISM's study programs. This makes sure their students receive optimal preparation for a global business career. Furthermore, they gain practical experience outside Germany during their 10 weeks internship abroad.

IU International University of Applied Sciences is a private, state-recognized Applied Sciences university in Erfurt, Germany. It provides in-person, distance, and blended learning programs in German and English on its campus. As of the summer semester of 2021, IU is the largest state-accredited university in Germany with 85,000 students, around 480 professors, and more than 1,000 lecturers.

IU International University of Applied Sciences

The public research institution known as the University of Regensburg (German: Universität Regensburg) is situated in the UNESCO-designated historic city of Regensburg, Bavaria. On July 18, 1962, the university was established.

The university is located south of Regensburg's inner city on a slight elevation south of the Danube River, right next to the Regensburg University of Applied Sciences, and next to the A 3 autobahn. It is wholly contained inside one central campus. 

The University of Regensburg educates more than 20,000 students and employs over 4,200 people, including 312 professors, in addition to the connected university hospital.

The Natural Sciences (Mathematics, Physics, Bio-Sciences, Chemistry, and Pharmacy), the Humanities (History, Philology), and Medicine are important areas of study. The SFB 1085 "Higher Invariants - Interactions between Arithmetic Geometry and Global Analysis" of the Faculty of Mathematics and the CRC/Transregio 55 "Hadron Physics from Lattice QCD" of the Faculty of Physics are two collaborative research centers currently supported by the German Research Association (DFG), along with four research units and five interdisciplinary graduate colleges. More than 30 EU projects include the university.

The institution offers a wide range of traditional study programs through its eleven faculties. One of the first German universities to implement modularized study programs based on the Bologna model was the university. Most study programs have been offering bachelor's and master's degrees since 2000. Doctoral degrees are also available in the majority of academic areas.

Universität Regensburg

In Germany's Baden-Württemberg region, Freiburg is home to the Freiburg University of Education (PH Freiburg). Locally, it is known as Freiburg Pädagogische Hochschule. The college was founded in 1962. It has received accreditation from the Baden-Württemberg Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung, and Kunst.

The Freiburg University of Education is a university-level educational institution with the authority to confer doctorates and habilitations. It is charged with carrying out the corresponding duties in educational (basic) research, research-focused instruction, scientific further education, and the support of emerging scientists.

With the Educational Graduate Academy (BiwAk), the University of Education Freiburg offers doctoral candidates, habilitation candidates, postdocs, and junior professors a wide range of supporting, qualifying, and advisory services. Scientific qualification and professional positioning in academic contexts present a variety of challenges.

The Freiburg University of Education's mentorship programs are designed to support young women in science (MenTa), engineering education students (Mentoring IngPäd), and young women who are interested in technology or who have just begun their studies (Mentoring Technology).

Offering education to all age groups is another aspect of the University of Education's goal.

Within the FACE (School of Education - FACE/Freiburg Advanced Center of Education) framework, the institution collaborates in research and instruction with the Freiburg University of Music, the University of Freiburg, and more than 100 other universities across the world.

University of Education Freiburg

German city of Bremen is home to the University of the Arts Bremen, also known as Hochschule für Künste Bremen or HfK Bremen. Since its founding in 1873, it has become one of the most renowned artistic institutes. There are about 900 students, 65 professors, and about 180 assistant professors at the University of the Arts Bremen's Fine Arts and Design Faculty and Music Faculty, respectively.

The University of the Arts Bremen is a center for education and culture. At the University of the Arts, practice, education, and research all coexist in a distinctive learning environment that blends art, music, design, and science.

The University of the Arts Bremen's Faculty of Art & Design offers programs in Fine Arts, Integrated Design, and Digital Media, enabling the institution to provide students with the highest level of individualized support in addition to a wide range of opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and experimentation. Performance, Music Education, Church Music, and Orchestral Academy are the four areas of specialization for the Bachelor's and Master's degrees offered by the Faculty of Music.

Volunteers (FKJ) and tutors (student assistants) from the International Office are delighted to assist full-time international students and visitors with any issues or problems that may occur, such as trips to the authorities or the search for housing. They assist students with settling into Bremen, plan extracurricular activities, offer useful guidance on language course options, and take part in the initial outreach to refugees.
