The program Urban design revitalization historic cities districts focus of development of historic cities in Europe and in the MENA region is until today one of the most important challenges for sustainable urban development. A vivid inner city with a historic core shapes the image and the identity of the city and is the catalyst for developments in the whole town. The benefit of renewal and revitalization of inner city areas is never reduced just to the inhabitants and stakeholders of a certain quarter  but extends into surrounding areas and to the town as a whole. Accordingly  in urban development nothing is more sustainable than a vital inner city. This thesis is correct for both shrinking cities in Germany and metropolitan areas in the MENA region. Rehabilitation processes require an integrated approach  finally fixed in the urban form  and guidelines that guarantee stability and continuity for all further development.

Students are trained in: conceptualization of intervention strategies  programme implementation within specific settings and/or target groups (e.g. vulnerable groups such as the chronically ill or ethnic minorities)  quality assurance  and scientific evaluation..

Step 1:
As a first step  you should send your application documents as one PDF-File by Email (sport-mapah@fau.de) directly to the Department of Sport Science and Sport. Please do not use the application portal of our university! You will receive a confirmation Email that we have received your application within three working days. Applications will be reviewed by the Department within 6 weeks of receiving the complete application package. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of the evaluation process by Email.

Step 2:
As a second step  applicants who have passed the evaluation by the Department of Sport Science and Sport will be asked to take part in the formal admission process conducted by the central university administration. Applicants will receive assistance guiding them through the formal application process. One important thing is changing: From January 2022  it will no longer be necessary to submit hard copies of your documents (certificates  language certificates  etc.). The entire process of step 1 and step 2 will be done online using electronic documents! The central university administration will conduct a formal check of the applicants' degree certificates. Applicants who pass this second evaluation process will receive an official letter of admission to the MA Programme in Spring/Summer.

For international applicants:
As international (i.e. non-European Union) students will need the formal admission letter in order to apply for a visa to Germany  these applicants are strongly encouraged to file their application with the Department of Sport Science as soon as possible.

If the application to the Department of Sport Science and Sport (Step 1) is submitted later than in February 2022  the full two-step application procedure may not be completed on time to receive a visa for the 2022 fall term.

Master in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering (MSc) is a multidisciplinary program that offers a possibility to gain a broad knowledge in both biotechnological processes and classical chemical engineering. Close collaboration of these disciplines is a special feature of the engineering departments at TU Hamburg in both education and research. Apart from the basic knowledge in biological and biocatalytic processes, separation technologies, mechanical and reaction engineering, Master students will get an insight into the most challenging problems on the boundaries between these disciplines and participate in the collaborative research of several departments.

In a highly interdisciplinary approach, students will be trained in Advanced methods and theoretical concepts in fields that form the interface to Biophysics: Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Economics of the Middle East (EMEA) is a unique Master program combining institutional economics and business administration with applications to the economies of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Understanding complex economic challenges in the MENA requires an interdisciplinary approach. It will enable students to assess and respond to the challenges and opportunities posed by internationalisation. This degree also addresses the legal framework that businesses operate within and provides a detailed understanding of European law apart from general management topics. The experience and knowledge you gain will enable students to find employment in a wide range of roles, from purchasing and distribution, to controlling and marketing. Alternatively, they can use skills to start their own business.
