Embedded systems are omnipresent in technical installations and utilities and, as "hidden" systems, form a key technology in terms of product innovations in mechanical and plant engineering as well as in medical and scientific devices and instruments. The University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven supports and furthers such development with the Master Programme "Embedded Systems Design". An embedded system includes mechanical or mechatronic systems which assume Its essential function through open or closed loop control using electronic components as well as the required software. Modules such as Digital Systems/VHDL, System-on Chip Design,  mechatronic and discrete control systems enable students to develop and implement innovative embedded systems.

Embedded Systems Design

Robotics is an innovative and rapidly growing field of technology. The bachelor’s programme prepares prospective engineers for future challenges in the area of robotics with a mix of theoretical and practical education and opens the door to a promising field of employment. Driven by the digitisation of production and recent progress in artificial intelligence, there is a growing need for robots. This results in a high and long-term demand for academically qualified robotics engineers. In addition to robotics, the Bachelor programme also qualifies students for cross-sectional activities in the fields of computer science, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.

The postgraduate course in British studies is an interdisciplinary teaching programme over 2 years. Having successfully completed the Certificate Phase during the first year, students receive a British Studies certificate. After successful completion of the entire course, students are awarded the degree M.A. British Studies. The Certificate Phase comprises about 30 weeks of teaching stretching over 2 semesters. The first semester (Core Programme) consists of a series of compulsory lectures and seminars. In the second semester (Options Programme) students can choose 3 out of 6 options (see course outline below). Students have to attend an average of at least 20 hours of classes per week. The Master program Matter to Life at the University of Göttingen is an interdisciplinary research-oriented course of study that qualifies for demanding tasks in research and development and leads to a Master of Science. The program is part of the Max Planck School Matter to Life, a joint initiative of several German universities and research institutes. Two different specific foci in Matter to Life is offered in this program in University of Göttingen and  Heidelberg University.

Matter to Life

The Master program in chemistry is composed entirely of elective modules, which ensure a minimum breadth of chemical specialisation, but above all enable individual profiling, also with content from the neighbouring natural sciences, mathematics and computer science. The program focuses on the following topics Functional Biomolecular Chemistry, Sustainable synthesis chemistry and catalysis, Modern Methods, Theory and Simulation. The degree programme thus specifically prepares students for a further doctorate or entry into industry.

Master for teaching at vocational colleges can be completed with a combination with any other major subject. Studying educational sciences is a mandatory part of teacher training for all student teachers - regardless of the chosen combination of subjects or the type of school.

The Semester contributions totalling 316.03 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Student union fee 99.11 EUR, Supplementary student insurance fee 0.23 EUR, University Sports fee 1.40 EUR, Student body fee 11.75 EUR, University radio station fee 0.30 EUR, Semester ticket for cultural events fee 3.40 EUR and Semester ticket 199.84 EUR

Master programme in Public Sector Innovation and E-Governance aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills and methods necessary to meet the academic and professional standards in the fields of public management, information systems and e-Governance. Programme is offered in cooperation with the Katholieke Universiteit (KU) Leuven in Belgium and the Tallinn University of Technology in Estonia. Students complete their first semester at the KU Leuven, spend their second semester at the University of Münster, and finish in Tallinn in their third semester.

The Master of Science in Water and Coastal Management offers an innovative and versatile opportunity of Advanced academic education, ready to be put into practice. The students of Master in Advanced Quantum Physics deal with atom-light-interactions, Rydberg physics, quantum sensors, quantum gases in magnetical and optical traps, optical and microwave resonators, many-body quantum systems, and hybrid systems consisting of ultracold atoms and superconducting structures.
