Course Details

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) English undergraduate course is part of a three-pronged training program for grammar school teachers. The specialist course for teaching is divided into a literary, a linguistic and a practical part. In the literary part, students will acquire skills to speak and write analytically and methodically reflected on English-language literature and English-speaking cultures. Students deal with literature from all epochs from the Middle Ages to the present and with literature of all genres. In the linguistic part of the course, students will systematically deal with the structure and history of the English language. In the practical language courses, you will improve your own language skills in English. Among other things, they attend courses on regional studies, oral proficiency, reading comprehension, writing, translation and grammar.

In order to study English, you must demonstrate knowledge of English and either Latinum or knowledge of other modern foreign language . The knowledge is considered proven by 4 years of teaching at the secondary level or 3 years of the secondary level II (up to the Abitur), final grade in each case at least . You can prove this with your university entrance qualification
