The environmental physics program focuses on understanding the complex relationships between atmosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, solid earth and climate. Special emphasis is placed on gaining experience in the application of state-of-the-art experimental methods, numerical data analysis using supercomputers and data interpretation via latest models. The Institute of Environmental Physics (IUP), and the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz-Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI), are jointly undertaking the teaching of the program.

The Semester contributions totalling 347.26 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Student Service fee 85.00 EUR, AstA contribution fee 16.00 EUR, Semester ticket fee 194.41 EUR, Kultursemesterticket fee 1.85 EUR and Administrative fee 50.00 EUR
Minimum entry requirement includes a university degree in Physics, Mathematics, or a comparable field of study with 180 ECTS.
University degree in English is accepted as proof of language requirement
