Sociology

The packaging, regardless of the material and for which product, has meanwhile become ubiquitous and taken for granted. Very few are aware of the small technical marvels they are holding in their hands and how much know-how is behind them. Every food is different and is therefore produced and packaged differently. The development of packaging that ensures that the product tastes good and looks good even weeks later brings together a wide range of disciplines such as materials and their sustainability, business administration, design, process engineering, robotics and microbiology. The topics of sustainability and recycling will become even more important in the future.
In the Bachelor degree, you will acquire the scientific and practical expertise to develop packaging that meets these diverse requirements.
Note: If you start your studies in the summer semester, you will study in the StudyFLEX program. What does StudyFLEX mean? The basic course is stretched from 2 to 3 semesters and supplemented by supporting events (bridging courses, tutorials, mentoring, study advice, orientation in the professional field). The originally 7-semester course is thus designed for 8 semesters, in which 210 cp are acquired. The Master degree in Management prepares you for your future as a manager in business and teaches you the management skills you need to take on management tasks. Academy for Cultural Diplomacy

The Master program in Anglophone Studies focuses on the linguistic, literary and cultural phenomena in their respective socio-cultural and political contexts.  The program offers flexible study model to students by allowing them to choose an elective module. This program is offered as a double degree program in cooperation with  Ruhr University Bochum and TU Dortmund.

Students should apply at the International Office on the Duisburg campus

Semester contribution of 324.06 EUR must be paid each semester. It consist of Mobility contribution of 213.06 EUR, Social contribution for the student union of 95.00 EUR, and Student union fee of 16.00 EUR

Native speakers are exempted from providing proof of language proficiency

Anglophone Studies

The Master degree in English and American Studies provides in-depth academic knowledge of one of the most influential languages ​​and a wide variety of Anglophone literatures and cultures in the world. The courses on offer in this research-oriented Master program come from the fields of English and American literature and cultural studies, English linguistics and philosophy. Completion of this degree can enable doctoral studies in a humanities or cultural studies subject at many universities.

The Master program in English Studies focuses on imparting knowledge in  Linguistics (synchronic and diachronic), Literary and Cultural Studies and in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). The program offers flexibility in studies by allowing students to choose modules in such a way that they cover all disciplines in English Studies. TELF program cannot be the only focus during course of study, students need to have a combination with modules from one or both of the major disciplines.

The Semester contributions totaling 138 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Basic Fee 75 EUR and Semester ticket fee 63 EUR
