The Master degree program 'Energy and Environmental Management - Industrial Countries' provides the necessary knowledge and skills to design the energy system required for the future. To cope with the biggest challenge of the 21st century  man-made climate change  we must convert 100% of the world's energy supply to renewable energy sources over the next few decades and to optimize the supply and use of energy.

Both the teaching and research work within the Master program focuses on the transformation from fossil energy systems to 100% renewable energy systems in order to achieve the goal of having a maximum increase of the global average temperature of 1.5°C by the year 2050. In order to achieve this  energy system models are built  and measures are developed to allow for the implementation of renewable energy systems. Additionally  political economy studies help to identify barriers of the transformation and to develop appropriate local solutions. In doing so  we do not lose sight of the socially just and environmentally compatible perspectives in addition to the technical and economic perspectives. The possibilities of energy sufficiency and sustainability as well as the investigation of justice and gender aspects also play special role within the team’s research.



Courses in the degree program 'Industrialized Countries' are mainly taught in English. Only individual elective modules are in German. This enables students without German language skills to complete the Master degree program in Energy and Environmental Management.

The Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, often known as HSRW or Hochschule Rhein-Waal, is a new and rapidly expanding public university in Germany that was founded for the 2009–10 winter semester. Through its four faculties—the Faculty of Technology & Bionics, Faculty of Life Sciences, Faculty of Society and Economics, and Faculty of Communication and Environment—it provides a variety of academic programs in both English and German, all are accredited by AQAS and ASIIN.
 
 Currently, HSRW provides 25 bachelor's degree programs and eleven master's degree programs in a variety of scientific disciplines, including engineering, technology, economics, social, natural, and health sciences. Their multimodal curricula offer students regular opportunities to apply theory in hands-on projects, labs, and exercises that are intended to get them ready for their future employment. They also provide a strong scientific and methodological education. 
 
 They give students many more opportunities to gain significant work experience and credentials before graduating with the aid of their business partners. Thanks to their numerous partner universities, students at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences have many different options when planning a semester abroad. The Bingen Technical University of Applied Sciences (German: Technische Hochschule Bingen) is a university located in Bingen am Rhein, Germany. In 1897, it was founded. The faculty of biological sciences and engineering and the faculty of technology, informatics, and business are both parts of the University of Applied Sciences Bingen. 

More than 2,500 students take use of the extensive course selection, which includes a wide range of biological and scientific courses in addition to courses in modern information and communication technologies and classic engineering disciplines. The good infrastructure and the scenic location at the confluence of the Rhine and Nahe were decisive for the choice of location. Since then, practical and futuristic technology training has been made available to students, making Bingen a desirable university site even today.
