This international study programme in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics provides research-oriented, interdisciplinary training at the interface between computer science and biology. Core fields are bioinformatics and systems biology, meaning the analysis and modelling of data in molecular biology and biochemistry, in particular from genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics. Graduates will have a strong biological background as well as being able to understand and develop software for the handling and analysis of biological data.

The Semester contributions totalling 350.48 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Administrative fee 75.00 EUR, Students body Contribution fee 14.00 EUR, Train semester ticket fee 92.44 EUR, Bus Semester ticket fee 50.90 EUR, Culture semester ticket fee 11.14 EUR and Student union fee 107.00 EUR
Minimum entry requirements include a Bachelor degree in Biology, Bioinformatics or in Computational Sciences. Application is also possible for students who passed at least 5/6 of their Bachelor (150 of 180 C).
All applicants must complete an assessment test.
UNIcert III, NULTE-Certificates with at least level C1, at least two years of studying or working in an English-speaking country within three years prior to application, a successfully completed degree programme of at least two years with English as exclusive teaching language is accepted as proof of language requirement
Documents must be certified and translated in English or German
Applicants from China, Vietnam, India and Mongolia additionally have to provide an APS certificate
