The objective of the English-language Functional Materials Master program is a research-oriented education in the field of modern functional materials, which are becoming increasingly important in the engineered world. The program focuses on the working mechanisms of modern functional materials and provides an education with respect to their manufacturing, processing and characterization. The program qualifies students for work both in basic research in public and private research institutions as well as in applied research and development in industry, in the fields of nanotechnology, chemistry, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. 

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

The Semester contributions totalling 354.17 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Student union fee 90.50 EUR, Student Body fee 14.00 EUR, Semester ticket fee 199.67 EUR and Administrative fee 50 EUR

The interdisciplinary and international Master degree course in Data Science fills gap and provides in-depth training in the relevant disciplines. It includes content from the fields of business informatics, mathematics, and statistics, business administration and marketing as well as media, law, and communication science.
The Master program is carried out in cooperation with the High-tech Business and Entrepreneurship Group of the University of Twente (Netherlands).

The Master degree programme Engineering of Socio-Technical Systems is a specialized academic curriculum that take an interdisciplinary approach to the development of safety-critical, computer-based interactive systems, and particularly focus on the interaction between humans and technology. The interdisciplinarily Master degree in data science combines content from computer science, mathematics, information systems, and the natural sciences. Core courses provide students with an overarching understanding of machine learning and deep learning, statistical data analysis, data assimilation, business analytics, and big data infrastructures. Career paths exist in for example, online commerce; search machines; the finance sector; the automobile, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing industries; meteorology; and climate research. Computer Science is undergoing rapid change. Digital development and other IT topics such as big data will have a huge impact on the future of our society, which means that experts in this field are in great demand. The Bachelor Computer Science programme will teach students all the knowledge and skills they need for a successful start in the IT job market. One particular focus of the Computer Science programme is software engineering. This is currently the most important sub-discipline of computer science, and it can be applied in many jobs across a wide range of industries; such as cyber security, data science, and artificial intelligence, data security, project management, and IT law.

The Bachelor study programme in Data Science covers all of the relevant fields of knowledge, such as data visualisation, data analysis, machine learning, and software engineering, and aligns them perfectly with one other. The key focus of the programme will be on practical problem-solving skills. Career prospects include Data Engineer, Data Scientist, Digital Analytics Consultant and so on.

Data Science (Hybrid)

Bachelor program in Embedded Software Systems deals with the basis of developing software for embedded systems and considers current methods for dealing with the special challenges. Embedded software systems is not a separate science. The course makes heavy use of computer science methods and deepens them. In addition, the basis of mathematics, physics and electrical engineering are taught. The course offers a solid education that is particularly in demand in industry, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree.

It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.
