The Master program in Logic and Philosophy of Science provides a lively environment for studying logic and philosophy of science. This program is embedded into the Faculty of Philosophy, Philosophy of Science and Religious Studies at LMU, covering a wealth of philosophical research areas, and attracting students and researchers from around the world.

For international students, who did not receive their first degree from a German university, the process of applying consists of two separate parts. Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

Logic and Philosophy of Science

In this program students will be taught in-depth knowledge and methods for engineers in different positions, ranging from product development to production and distribution as well as customer service. Thus, they will be enabled to independently work on optimum solutions. They will learn to utilize engineering  methods and findings of the latest state of technology as well as to develop new methods. Positions in research and development, production, marketing, distribution and servicing of technical equipment could be future career path, as well as management functions within the industry, the public sector or even the start-up of your own new enterprise.

The Semester contributions totalling 314.36 EUR must be paid each semester. Mechanical Engineering

Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences

Master program in Research on Teaching and Learning enables educationalists, psychologists, but also teacher training students access to a deepening scientific education. Students explore key theories, concepts, methods and findings of empirical educational research and focus on teaching and learning in a variety of educational contexts.

It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.

Master program in mathematics builds upon the Bachelor degree in mathematics, physics or comparable degree programs. It is tailored to students who are interested in mathematics as an exact science. The program deepens and builds existing knowledge, offering a broad spectrum of individual specialties.

Mathematics

Master programme in Mathematics International focuses on a broad mathematical education, in which students become acquainted with a wide range of modern mathematical methods, and their ability to recognise connections and compare structures is promoted. On the other hand, students are introduced to current mathematical research in their chosen field of study.

The Master program in Digital Sciences integrates the disciplines of computer science, information science, and data science into a highly flexible program that serves individual needs. The course offers four fields of study: Business Information Systems (instruction in English language), IT Management (instruction in German and English language), Software Architecture (instruction in English language), Data and Information Science (instruction in English language).

Mathematics for Data and Resource Sciences programme focuses on the methods and techniques necessary to understand and mathematically address the challenges. Mathematical skills are indispensable for the activities of modern industrial enterprises. In addition, the necessary quantification, professional assessment and documentation of the findings of application-oriented research can only be carried out with the Advanced and qualified use of mathematical methods.

The Semester contributions totaling 94.00 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Students union fee 87.00 EUR and Student Council fee 7.00 EUR

Business Analytics and Econometrics

University of Cologne

This international study programme in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics provides research-oriented, interdisciplinary training at the interface between computer science and biology. Core fields are bioinformatics and systems biology, meaning the analysis and modelling of data in molecular biology and biochemistry, in particular from genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics. Graduates will have a strong biological background as well as being able to understand and develop software for the handling and analysis of biological data.

The Master program in bioinformatics is a direct response to a paradigm shift taking place in medicine and biological sciences. Further research in these areas rests on the evaluation of masses of biological data: here, the use of computers, combined with accurate mathematical models and efficient algorithms is essential. Employing adequate training in the various sub-disciplines, this program provides the required knowledge for students to be able to judge mathematical methods and models, to recognize relevant biological questions, and to correctly interpret the results of the models in a biological context.
