Artificial intelligence (AI) now permeates all areas of our lives and holds enormous potential for the future. In the Master of Science programme in Artificial Intelligence Engineering you will deal with scientific theories, algorithms and methods for designing and developing AI-based systems. You will also acquire the ability to integrate artificial intelligence into existing real-world systems or to develop these yourself. In addition, you will study artificial intelligence from the perspective of other academic disciplines, as the widespread use of AI-based systems raises not only technical but also legal, ethical, social and economic questions.

Economics of the Middle East (EMEA) is a unique Master program combining institutional economics and business administration with applications to the economies of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Understanding complex economic challenges in the MENA requires an interdisciplinary approach. Thus, the EMEA curriculum equips students with knowledge about up-to-date issues relevant for many MENA countries, e.g., Islamic finance, political economy, natural resources, corruption, and conflict, as well as a wide range of electives from various disciplines to facilitate a broad understanding of the region’s complexity.

Philip I, Landgrave of Hesse, founded the Philipps University of Marburg in 1527, making it the oldest still-operating Protestant university in the world as well as one of Germany's oldest universities. With roughly 23,500 students and 7,500 staff members, it is presently a public university of the state of Hesse that is situated in Marburg, a town with 76,000 residents, with university facilities scattered across or near the town center. 
 
 The highest proportion of international students in Hesse, at around 14%, attend this school. Additionally, it provides student exchanges through the Erasmus program and an international summer university program. Today, it offers excellent teaching in a wide range of subjects in a total of 16 departments. Future-oriented topics with high relevance for society determine research in Marburg. With 13 Leibniz Prize winners, the Philipps University is one of the leading research institutions in the state of Hesse. Almost all scientific disciplines, with the exception of engineering, are represented at the Philipps University.
 
 The Marburg campus of Philipps University provides 70 master's-level courses and 36 bachelor's-level courses. The University of Potsdam is a public university located in Potsdam, the state capital of Brandenburg, Germany, that was established in 1991. The majority of it is spread out over three campuses in the city. The Institution of Potsdam, which is currently the biggest university in Brandenburg, is mostly spread among three campuses on the outskirts of the city.

The campus Am Neuen Palais, which is in the immediate proximity of the Park of Sanssouci, is home to the Faculty of Arts. In rural Golm, where one of the largest science parks of the region has grown, there are the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Human Sciences.
