In this field biology joins forces with e.g. bioinformatics  mathematics and physics. The common target is to understand the functionality of cells  organs or even complete organisms.

The International Master in “Physical Activity and Health” programme provides graduate students with knowledge and practical experience in the field of physical activity and health promotion. Its areas of emphasis are physical activity and exercise for disease prevention and rehabilitation. Students are trained in: conceptualization of intervention strategies  programme implementation within specific settings and/or target groups (e.g. vulnerable groups such as the chronically ill or ethnic minorities)  quality assurance  and scientific evaluation..

Step 1:
As a first step  you should send your application documents as one PDF-File by Email (sport-mapah@fau.de) directly to the Department of Sport Science and Sport. Please do not use the application portal of our university! You will receive a confirmation Email that we have received your application within three working days. Applications will be reviewed by the Department within 6 weeks of receiving the complete application package. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of the evaluation process by Email.

Step 2:
As a second step  applicants who have passed the evaluation by the Department of Sport Science and Sport will be asked to take part in the formal admission process conducted by the central university administration. Applicants will receive assistance guiding them through the formal application process. One important thing is changing: From January 2022  it will no longer be necessary to submit hard copies of your documents (certificates  language certificates  etc.). The entire process of step 1 and step 2 will be done online using electronic documents! The central university administration will conduct a formal check of the applicants' degree certificates. Applicants who pass this second evaluation process will receive an official letter of admission to the MA Programme in Spring/Summer.

For international applicants:
As international (i.e. non-European Union) students will need the formal admission letter in order to apply for a visa to Germany  these applicants are strongly encouraged to file their application with the Department of Sport Science as soon as possible.

If the application to the Department of Sport Science and Sport (Step 1) is submitted later than in February 2022  the full two-step application procedure may not be completed on time to receive a visa for the 2022 fall term.

It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.

Applicants not providing CEFR B2 level language certificates may have to take an additional English language exam at the University Language Center prior to enrollment  regardless of the score achieved in other language tests

The study program Architecture (DIA) is located right next to the world-famous Bauhaus Dessau. It is influenced by Its vivid history and driven by innovation. It complements the bachelor’s program in Architecture by systematically deepening the topics of architecture and urban planning. This then complete architecture education fulfills all formal regulations needed to apply for membership of the architectural association. The focus is on strengthening the knowledge in design expertise and methodology. other focus is on the analysis of current questions related to culture and social sciences as well as to the humanities. Also the latest insights into research and development, new procedures, technologies and materials are highlighted.

Semester contribution include a train ticket with which covers travel free of charge by bus and trains in the state of North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW)

Comparative Studies in English and American Language, Literature and Culture

The Master of Linguistics is research-oriented and furthers methodical and theoretical knowledge that has been acquired in the Bachelor’s Program. It ties in with recent research and creates the necessary impetus for independent scientific work. Apart from an expansion of the students’ general knowledge of linguistics, students will acquire detailed skills in a specific branch of linguistics and knowledge of a single, specific language. In the Tutorial Team Project, students will acquire didactic skills suited for higher education. They will also be trained in high-level team work.

The MA Communication Design and Creative Strategies Master program is future-oriented. It teaches the key skills that are expected of creative people in managerial positions. The goal is sound mastery of the entire design-oriented value-added process, in theory and practice.

Notes teaching language depends based on location chosen. Course taught in English if location Berlin chosen and course taught in German if location Cologne chosen.

Bachelor in Nautical and Maritime Transport is very varied and practical course also due to the mandatory practical semester. Students will be prepared for all eventualities that can happen on board a ship and in dealing with own shipping company. Ecological, engineering, logistical and safety-related issues play a major role in seafaring. The annual training trip on a sailing schooner, as well as the practical semesters on board, round off the practical part of the course and deepen the nautical knowledge.

Nautical and Maritime Transport

The Food and Agribusiness , serves to teach and further develop Competencies for practical leadership activities and scientific work. After completing the program, graduates have the Competencies necessary for taking on a management role in the national and international food industry and agribusiness sector. Based on the study objectives, the qualifications obtained serve primarily for companies in the agricultural and food industry, but also companies in food retail and wholesale companies as well as in associations and government agencies. The primary focuses are on leadership tasks at the middle management level and tasks in the areas of quality management, product development, marketing, and consulting.

Semester contribution of 86.00 EUR includes administration fee for general registration and student union

If you do not have these certificates, other german language certificate also accepted. Alternatively, comparable degrees can be recognized for admission. In this case the student must complete the assessment test (FSP) B2 during the first semester at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences
