The Global Economics and Management (GEM) study program is among the Jacobs University’s longest standing programs . In line with the university’s chief mission, the GEM program delivers high quality research and teaching to train students from all over the world in the economic analysis and managerial skills they need to understand and address complex global problems affecting markets, organizations and society.The purpose of the GEM study program is to enable graduates to take an active role in shaping future economic and social processes. This program therefore combines the disciplines of Economics and Management Studies. Economics studies examine how individuals, households,firms and governments make decisions regarding the production, distribution, acquisition and allocation of scarce resources. The Management discipline studies the design and administration of firms, nonprofits and public organizations, as well as the consequences of managerial actions and decisions on individuals, society and economies.

The semester contribution includes University fee and semester ticket,In order to confirm your acceptance of our offer of admission, you must pay a one time enrollment deposit of EUR 500. The enrollment deposit is a down payment on your first semester’s fees
Tuition fee for one academic year is 20000 EUR
Minimum requirement for first year Applicants includes completed senior (final) year of high school, graduated from high school (or equivalent), or you have attended other university and received university-level credit, but you have not completed two or more semesters of full-time studies.
Alternately, requirement for transfer Applicants includes if Applicants previously enrolled at a university and received university-level credit for two or more semesters.
If applicants admitted, standardized testing (SAT/ACT) may be required for enrollment, if your high school diploma does not grant you direct admission to a university in Germany. Students who graduate with the German Abitur do not need to submit standardized test scores to Jacobs University. If you do not submit a standardized test, your application will be considered on the basis of the personal essay, letters of recommendation, academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and the way students presented themselves through the application process.
Applicants will qualify for an English proficiency waiver if they are a native English speakers, or have been instructed exclusively in English for a minimum of 6 years, or have scored 600 or higher on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section, or have scored 9 or higher on the ACT Writing section
Alternately, English language proficiency includes minimum scores/grades as follows: Grade B in GCSE (British General Certificate of Secondary Education) or score of 80 in MELAB (Michigan Test) or score of 6 in International Baccalaureate English A Literature and English A Language']
Applicants need to upload an educational history form where you will list all the schools that you have attended up to your current school
A recommendation letter is optional/upon request. This should ideally come from a school official, such as a teacher, career/guidance counselor, head of school or principal
