The Technische Universität Ilmenau (Ilmenau University of Technology, TU Ilmenau) is a German public research university located in Ilmenau, Thuringia, in the heart of Germany. Since 1971, FHWS has had offices in Würzburg and Schweinfurt, two cities in the Lower Franconia administrative district, which is located in the Free State of Bavaria's northern region. Major German cities like Munich and Frankfurt am Main, both of which have an international airport, are close by from this location. Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Poland, and Switzerland are all nearby neighbors in Europe.
