The practice-oriented Master in Law and Economics of the Arab Region provides in-depth knowledge for economic analyses of the legislation with this unique geographic focus. Graduates are awarded a double degree: a law degree from the Faculty of Law at Universität Hamburg (Master of Law, LLM) and an economics degree from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS) at Cairo University (Master of Economics, MSc).
Students learn to apply the tools of economics and social sciences to legal issues. They are subsequently able to communicate economic analyses of legislation and formulate policy recommendations. The program is partially funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) via the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Marine Science Education, Microorganisms in the ocean are fundamentally important for a sustainable biosphere. They directly influence our environment and our climate. The study of marine microbiology involves research of fundamental issues such as the evolution of life, the functioning of marine food webs, global climate change, the fate of pollutants, and the biodiversity of the ocean. In terms of educational policy, the students will be provided with the possibility to qualify on an elevated level within the research field of marine microbiology. The subject English Studies is offered as one of two subjects within the Master Teacher Training Course for Grammar Schools. Students on the Master degree programme acquire the specialist and teaching skills required to work successfully as a grammar school teacher. Teaching methodology is of great importance to students aspiring to become school teachers. In addition to the customary theoretical education in teaching methodology, students complete five weeks of practical training at a school after attending a preparatory seminar. Seconded grammar school teachers help prepare students for their practical training.
