Master

The international Master World Heritage Studies provides the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to identify  protect  manage and present cultural and natural heritage sites. Students are encouraged to question how the World Heritage concept is understood and how it works around the world. The program combines theory and practice involving various academic disciplines such as humanities  architecture  ecology  management  tourism  marketing and others. It thus emphasizes the connection between culture and nature  tangible and intangible cultural heritage  as well as conservation and sustainable development.The program recognizes that heritage can and should be protected from a variety of perspectives and in contemporary contexts. To this end  the program focuses on the critical examination of current challenges  such as demographic changes  ecological fragility and economic inequalities. Students will develop the skills they need to work successfully in professional cultural and natural heritage contexts to further Advanced the definition and recontextualization of the World Heritage concept.

The language of instruction and examination in the World Heritage Studies Master program is English.

All applicants with a German Master degree can apply directly in the myBTU portal for their desired course. This also applied to students who are or were already enrolled at one of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg locations and would like to apply for a Master degree or a change of degree.
Students who obtained their last entrance qualification abroad and would like to apply for a Master degree should apply via the My assist Applicants portal .

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

Applicants with a higher education entrance qualification from Australia  Canada  Ireland  New Zealand  Great Britain incl. Northern Ireland or the United States of American do not have to submit a separate proof of English language skills

Electronics Engineering

The B.A. in Animation and Game encompasses character design and storytelling  2D and 3D animation  game development and programming. Over seven semesters  students work in a practical and interdisciplinary way to acquire the wide range of technical  conceptual and design skills needed for the development and production of animated films  series and games. Professional project management facilitates team-based working on this course  which is taught mainly in English.

Step 1

The Master degree International Organisations and Crisis Management is the only programme in Germany and one of very few in Europe that focuses on the following three areas. 
First  we will learn about the goals  tasks  structures  cultures and norms of international governmental and non governmental organisations. 
Secondly  you will become familiar with the possibilities and limits of international crisis management  by which we understand the settlement of violent conflicts as well as the governance of issues such as pandemics  migration flows  natural disasters and financial crises.

Physics is an elemental branch of the natural sciences that focuses on the structure of matter and the fundamental interactions between the components of the observable universe. On a scale ranging from macroscopic to submicroscopic, it examines all aspects of the universe, with the primary objective of formulating a small number of general principles that can explain all physical phenomena. The objective of the Master degree programme in Physics is not to lead students to become highly-specialised experts, but rather, to allow them to develop flexibility and scientific self-reliance. Its laws are typically expressed in the language of mathematics. Potential career options range from research and development at universities, research institutions, and in industry to positions in IT and communications firms or in management consultancy.

The Master degree programme in Translational Medical Research  focuses on the transfer of knowledge derived from basic molecular and cellular research into new approaches for the diagnosis and therapy of disease, and on the translation of unmet clinical needs into basic research questions that can be addressed through experimentation. The importance of innovation and entrepreneurship for effective translation is also considered. Accordingly, the Master degree programme provides students in the interdisciplinary field of translational medical research with the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in research at the frontiers between fundamental laboratory-based experimentation, clinical research and commercial exploitation.

Translational Medical Research

The strategic role of marketing has become more crucial to the profitable operation and growth of businesses in recent years. In the Marketing Management Master you will learn how to stringently derive promising marketing strategies from the findings of market research and the specifications of company management, and to plan, implement and control them in a targeted manner. This full-time on-campus Master prepares you optimally for a career as Marketing Manager. In just 4 semesters you'll acquire the tools and strategies you need to succeed in any strategic marketing, corporate communication position or to operate in cross-functional teams. The program covers multiple subject areas under the umbrella of marketing and offers comprehensive insight into subjects like communications, sales and digital marketing, public relations, consumer behavior or data-driven market research.
Course is also available in Fast Track basis. Under fast track basis, semester abroad is omitted and you shorten your internship period. This allows you to complete your Master degree in only 3 semesters with 90 ECTS.
Note: An international double degree can be obtained in marketing. In addition to your Master degree at ISM, you will also receive a second, internationally recognized Master degree. Depending on the partner universities, this is even possible within the framework of the integrated semester abroad, whereby you can obtain two Master degrees in just two or two and a half years.
