Course Details

Master in Labour policy and globalization aims at candidates with experience in labour and social movements willing to assist organisations in these fields in engaging more effectively in social dialogue, public debate, and policy implementation. Participants will analyse and discuss the challenges of globalisation from a labour and trade union perspective in a multidisciplinary context. The programme offers a multicultural and multiregional environment with students and lecturers from developing, transition and industrialised countries. The programme is a one year joint degree programme of the University of Kassel and the Berlin School of Economics. Students also have the possibility to pursue a double degree with the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Additionally there is the possibility of doing an exchange semesters at the GLU programme in Brazil or India.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirement includes a Bachelor degree or equivalent in economics, law, pedagogy or social sciences.

Applicants should have a total of 240 acquired ECTS credits. In case have earned less than 240 credits during Bachelor studies, it is still possible to get admitted to programme. The admission will then be conditional on completing the missing credits during Master studies by completing more courses or extending studies by one or two semesters.

Applicants should have Advanced knowledge on issues of labour relations and at least one year of practical experience in the representation of workers interests.
