The Master study programme Materials Science and Engineering offers students a specialised scientific education at a high level and with a research-based focus. The programme deals with the synthesis, characterisation and processing of all functional classes of materials, for example materials for energy generation, biomaterials, thermoelectronics, semiconductors, carbon fibres and organic light-emitting diodes (OLED). During the standard period of study of four semesters, Master students acquire in-depth knowledge in the core areas of materials science, materials physics and materials engineering.

Minimum entry requirement include a Bachelor degree in materials science, physics, chemistry, or materials science and engineering or equivalent, with 12 ECTS credits in Materials Science, 12 ECTS credits in Physics and 18 ECTS credits from Engineering, Chemistry or Mathematics.
Native speakers are exempted from providing proof of language requirement
A degree from an English-speaking country may be accepted as proof of language proficiency
Documents must be translated in English or german
Applicants from China, Vietnam, India and Mongolia require original APS certificate
