Course Details

The English course at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg offers an in-depth examination of the English-speaking cultural areas and their respective cultural products as well as the constellation of language and culture. In addition to the didactics of the English language, English literature and English linguistics are the focus of the course. The areas of foreign language learning with digital media, intercultural communication, children's literature, varieties of English as well as Irish Studies and Irish English form a special focus. In the teacher training programmes, you apply either for two subjects (teaching at primary, secondary and secondary schools) or for a professional subject and a subject (social and business education).

In TOEIC, the listening/reading level should be 850 and the speaking/writing level should be 340

English proficiency can be demonstrated with the following academic achievements: The minimum score of 11 points in the major subject English or in English as a written examination subject in the upper secondary school (as an average of the four half-years of the course and the Abitur examination) as stated in the university entrance qualification (HZB) or the final grade of at least 2.0 in English as shown in the other valid HZBs or European Baccalaureate with English as language L1 or L2 with the final grade shown of at least 8.0 or IB Diploma with English as Language A at Higher Level with a final grade of at least 6.0 or Modules of a university course of at least 30 Credit Points (CP) according to ECTS, taught exclusively in English and completed with an assessment in English

Applicants who did not obtain their IB diploma in Germany must also prove their knowledge of German
