The course includes lectures on more general approaches to integrated urban development and urban sustainability  but also takes a closer look at urban resilience in the context of climate-sensitive planning by analysing urban heat islands and different buildings typologies and urban patterns. Part of the programme is GIS training and application in order to map such heat islands of informal and formal housing areas  using a practical  illustrative case study. Based on these findings  you will get the chance to create practical design solutions that respond to urban heat in the physical  cultural  and social context.

The MA Interior Architecture/Interior Design program is offered to graduates of interior architecture/interior design. The program strengthens the Competencies and specialized knowledge acquired at BA level so that students can individually apply creative and responsible solutions to tasks in the fields of interior architecture and interior design. The program Urban design revitalization historic cities districts focus of development of historic cities in Europe and in the MENA region is until today one of the most important challenges for sustainable urban development. A vivid inner city with a historic core shapes the image and the identity of the city and is the catalyst for developments in the whole town. The benefit of renewal and revitalization of inner city areas is never reduced just to the inhabitants and stakeholders of a certain quarter  but extends into surrounding areas and to the town as a whole. Accordingly  in urban development nothing is more sustainable than a vital inner city. This thesis is correct for both shrinking cities in Germany and metropolitan areas in the MENA region. Rehabilitation processes require an integrated approach  finally fixed in the urban form  and guidelines that guarantee stability and continuity for all further development.

Mittweida University of Applied Sciences is a public university of applied science located in Mittweida, Germany, founded in 1867. The over 7,000 students at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences have access to more than 50 degree programs of the highest caliber available. At the 5 faculties, students can earn their Bachelor's, Master's, or Diploma degrees.

The recognized study programs offer scientific knowledge and skills in the fields of media, computer science, economics, engineering, and social work. University of Applied Sciences Mittweida

The University of Europe for Applied Sciences, also known as UE, is a private, for-profit university in Germany having campuses in Berlin, Potsdam, Hanover, and Hamburg in addition to its main campus and administrative center in Iserlohn. It was formed in 2017 as the University of Applied Sciences Europe by a merger of the Business and Information Technology School and the Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule.

There are three faculties at the university:
•	The Business and Information Technology School used to teach both business and psychology.
•	Sport, Media, and Event Management, originally taught at the Business and Information Technology School

•	Art and Design, originally taught at the Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule
They collaborate to offer a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, some of which are taught in English.

There is no fee for ERASMUS students at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences, depending on the individual agreement fee of Students from partner universities varies it is recommended to consult your local university and a regular tuition fee is applied for students from universities with which there is no partnership ( Free movers).

The University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) offers students the chance to spend a semester studying at one of its esteemed partner institutions. Typically, you finish this in your fifth semester in a bachelor's program.
