The goal is the analysis of scientific knowledge  Its economic structure and Its integration into the social context in the past and present. The course is aimed on the one hand at bachelor’s graduates in the three basic disciplines of history  economics and philosophy  and on the other hand at graduates from the natural and social sciences who are aiming for a science-reflective deepening of their studies. The training in the ISoS course qualifies the students for independent research work in the field of science research  but at the same time is aimed at imparting important skills for working in various institutions of science administration and science management.

Lüneburg's Leuphana University is a public university in Lower Saxony, Germany. University of Applied Sciences Jena

The University of Passau, or Universität Passau in German, is a public research university founded on October 9, 1978, in Passau, Lower Bavaria, Germany. Its first semester enrollment was 463 students.

There are now 39 distinct undergraduate and graduate degree programs offered at its four faculties. On its university campus, which is a short distance from Passau's Old Town, about 12,000 students from more than 100 different countries and about 1,100 primary employees in the academic units and academic support divisions are working on research, teaching, and support activities for higher education. The library was founded with the university in 1978 and welcomed Passauer residents and students that same year.
